From a new range of Tiffany & Co. dessert plates inspired by the trailblazing French sculptor César to contemporary artist Danielle Mckinney’s dreamy interpretation of the Dior Lady Bag, these ten gifts are sure to inspire the art aficionado in your life.
1. Dom Pérignon x Jean-Michel Basquiat 2015 Vintage
Inspired by Basquiat’s most iconic works, this special 2015 edition of Dom Pérignon celebrates the artist’s cultural impact. The series includes three different boxes, each depicting a part of Basquiat’s painting, which can be reassembled by bringing the coffrets together. This Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 pairs well with caviar, king crab, and langoustine as well as pork, lamb, or duck, making it the perfect artful accompaniment for holiday feasting.
2. Tiffany & Co. x César Fondation
An ode to the spirit of inventive artistry, this stunning new collection from Tiffany & Co. draws on the trailblazing works and vision of artist César, who was fascinated with the idea of repurposing objects in unexpected ways. This set of dessert plates in particular is inspired by the display of cracked and shattered ceramic plates that lined the wall of his home. The mosaic designs are layered onto colors inspired by the jewelry house’s iconic gemstones.
3. Dior Lady Art Bag
Since 2016, Dior has invited a group of leading artists to transform its iconic Lady Dior bag into a wearable work of art. For the ninth edition, the Alabama-born artist Danielle McKinney chose to translate one of her paintings, Shelter. “To me, the Lady Dior Bag represents class and sophistication,” said the artist, who is known for her poetic oil-on-linen works depicting Black women in repose. “I try to reflect that in my work, so it was a great mirror to mirror project… The narrative that I want to tell is that a painting can transcend itself.” Other participating artists include Faith Ringgold, Jeffery Gibson, Vaughn Spann, and Anna Weyant.
4. Audemars Piguet x KAWS
The centerpiece of a new artistic collaboration between the Swiss watch house and New York artist KAWS is a new Royal Oak timepiece: the Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon “Companion” limited edition. With a 43mm case size, the handsome watch boasts a sandblasted titanium watch case and black ceramic crown. The dial features a sunburst titanium dial plate, where the artist’s signature companion—a three-dimensional, grey-hued character—seems to be trapped within, his white hands pressed up against the glass. Provocative and witty, the piece lends a fun Pop Art sensibility to the rarified and often serious world of haute horlogerie.
5. Loewe x Suna Fujita
Loewe teams up once again with Suna Fujita, a Kyoto-based ceramics studio led by a husband-and-wife duo, for a new holiday collaboration. This whimsical collection features original illustrations and ceramics crafted by the couple. With a variety of accessories, statement garments, and pottery, it is perfect for all gift-giving needs.
6. MoMA Matisse Slippers
The beloved Subu Slippers from Japan have been given a painterly makeover with striking collages by Henri Matisse in this fun collaboration with MoMA. Using bold colors and organic shapes, Matisse described his cut-out technique as “painting with scissors.” The slippers come in three patterns based on different works from MoMA’s collection and are available exclusively at MoMA.
7. Illy x Judy Chicago
A pioneer of feminist art, the world-renowned artist Judy Chicago teams up with Illy to create a special art collection with the Italian brand’s beloved espresso and cappuccino cups. This set contains two cappuccino cups from the collection, one can of illy Classico coffee for espresso, and one electric milk frother.
8. Timbaland x Derek Fordjour
A true collector’s item, this new vinyl is a creative collaboration between Timbaland and artist Derek Fordjour. The deluxe double-disc features transparent orange vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve, adorned with a cutout of Fordjour’s original artwork, Beatmaker (2024). Fordjour considers vinyl, like painting, as a historical object reflecting memory and time.
9. Judd Foundation x Puiforcat Dinner Set
In partnership with the Judd Foundation, Puiforcat created an eight-piece table service designed by American artist Donald Judd in the late 1980s and left behind in draft form. The late artist designed a series of bowls, plates, and cups with a mix of cylindrical shapes intersected by perpendicular planes, which have been beautifully realized in pure sterling silver.
10. Louis Vuitton x Alex Israel
Created in 2019, Alex Israel’s Louis Vuitton Cologne collection captures the dreamy, cinematic nature of his hometown Los Angeles in his own style. Each scent is a journey along the California coast, from Pacific Chill, a perfume that pays homage to the energy of nature with vibrant notes of blackcurrant, carrot seeds, and aromatic herbs, to On the Beach, a fragrance composed of yuzu, neroli, and the sandy notes of aromatic herbs. This year, the artist presented the fragrances in a striking three-dimensional sculpture depicting a mini city, hand-shaped and assembled in France with the house’s master craftsmen.
