Show houses are always an exciting occasion on the design industry calendar—no two visits are the same, and each room becomes a vivid playground for designers to explore imaginative concepts in response to illustrious architecture and the culture of its destination. It’s also an opportunity for participants to push past their comfort zones to create thoughtful, deeply layered spaces that abound with stylish furniture, dazzling artwork, and inspired materials that all coalesce to challenge and deepen how we perceive the spaces we call home.

The Eighth Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach, which officially opens its doors today, February 21, is no different. The highly anticipated edition sees 23 distinguished designers and architects transform a palatial property in the Providencia Park neighborhood of West Palm Beach into a tropical fantasia of mind-bending design. A one-of-a-kind estate dating back to 1937, the lavish single-family home features more than 7,700 square feet of living space across five spacious bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and an expansive outdoor area featuring an in-ground pool. Further setting the scene are breathtaking views of the clear blue Intracoastal Waterway backdropped by glimmering Palm Beach Island.

The idyllic atmosphere affords designers carte blanche to muse on themes, materials, and styles with precious few parameters. Clear trends unfolded across the home, many recalling the South Florida city’s glamorous heyday. Decidedly demure lounges—Caroline Gidiere’s pink-hued Ladies Club and a cottage-esque upstairs getaway dreamed up by Nellie Howard Ossi—provide restful sanctuaries for the modern woman. Ditto for a colorful homage to Lilly Pulitzer envisioned by Amanda Reynal Interiors, who was commissioned by Lee Jofa to create a fabric and wall covering collection in homage to the late entrepreneur and socialite’s coastal flair. It blankets the lounge in blissful verdant shades complemented by tortoiseshell wall sculptures by Lilly’s daughter, Minnie, and underwater photography by Lilly’s grandson, Chris Leidy.

Wellness also took center stage. Many rooms recast unsightly recreation equipment into dazzling showpieces of material ingenuity. Moniomi Design enveloped a game room in spirited mauve and burgundy tones, lending depth and intrigue to a breathtaking marble-and-onyx ping-pong table, pair of basketball hoops, and gaming station accented with sumptuous Kyle Bunting hides. There’s also pinkish faux bois ping-pong table anchoring Meg Lonergan’s indoor-outdoor ode to Persephone, which she nestled under a scenic loggia. Indigo Pruitt Design’s guest-house getaway practically glows as it calms all five senses, its soothing sage-like palette inviting repose on a pair of lounge chairs or the tranquil reflection nook’s whimsical Kelly Wearstler stone benches illuminated by a wall of blue-veined Primestones quartzite.

“Every room in this home tells a story,” says James Druckman, president of the board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. “This event showcases the best of design while directly benefiting the young people we serve, and we’re grateful to be able to make such an impact together. The community’s continued support and enthusiasm year after year plays a pivotal role in helping us raise funds for the Kips Bay Boys & girls Club and the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County.”

The ticketed occasion is among the year’s most anticipated design events and helps raise crucial funds for the two organizations, which aim to provide educational and developmental programs to more than 40,000 children, especially youngsters who come from disadvantaged or disenfranchised circumstances. The show houses have raised more than $30 million over nearly half a century, made possible thanks to the support of sponsors Arca, Armina Stone, Artistic Tile, Benjamin Moore, Botanica Landscaping, CoCollect, the Colony Hotel, Colwright Designer Delivery, Cosentino, Currey & Company, Fabuwood, Harlequin, Hector Finch, JennAir, Kohler, Kravet, Land Rover Palm Beach, Made Goods, New York Design Center, Pioneer Linens, Primestones, Related Ross, the Romo Group, Sciame Homes, Mr. & Mrs. Howard for Sherrill Furniture, Susan’s Jewelry, the Shade Store, Vaughan, and Zwilling Flammkraft.

“Each year, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm beach inspires our community with its extraordinary creativity and generosity,” Jaene Miranda, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, said in a statement. “The funds raised through this event directly impact the lives of over 30,000 children we serve, empowering them to dream big and achieve their full potential. We are deeply grateful to the designers, sponsors, and visitors who make this remarkable event possible.”

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach will be open at 1125 North Flagler Drive until Sunday, March 16. Below, explore more rooms from the residence.

Rajni Alex DesignnA culinary nod to the Floridian days of yesteryear, each section of the jewel-like kitchen abounds with delightfully quaint details that connect styles and eras. The cozy, light-bathed breakfast nook ideally suits champagne brunches cooked up in a kitchen abundant with burgundy hues and contemporary touches like JennAir appliances, a sturdy Dekton countertop by Cosentino, Fabuwood cabinetry, and a Calacatta Viola marble backsplash by Armina Marble. The hand-blown glass fixtures sourced from Galerie Creative Mind Avram Rusu are the cherries on top.

Marshall Watson & Reid Deane Ganes InteriorsnThere are endless options for entertaining in the living room, envisioned as a lavish ode to the golden age of Palm Beach replete with punchy Art Deco influences. Ikselu2019s abstract geometric wallpaper riffs on classic palm patterns, playing off a pair of rattan Bonacina lounge chairs, bamboo trims, and hand-stenciled ceiling motifs by Artful Surfaces that seem to float up the walls. Nikki LevynQuickly greeting visitors is Atelier Botanica, a mood-ring journey inside the psyche of Nikki Levy, whose lush approach flowed freely in the entryway, up the ombru00e9-hued spiral staircase, and through to the second-floor landing. Grounded in luxurious floral patterns thanks to a dramatically fluid custom rug for Ruggle Up, the Boca Raton talent explores her dualities by infusing each space with vibrant touches (yellows, blues, corals) or darker tones that reflect her moody, contemplative side, embodied by two soul-baring art pieces by Kalee Appleton.n

Moniomi DesignnSensual burgundy tones envelop the chic recreation room top-to-bottom, spanning the marble-and-onyx ping-pong table perched atop of a Kyle Bunting wool rug, a plush wraparound sofa by Pivot House, and a delicate tented ceiling that draws attention to a striking wood-carved chandelier by Krasnogorov Studio. The firm founded by husband-and-wife Monica Santayana and Ronald Alvarez also lent panache to a nearby powder room, where riotous splashes of rosy and black mosaics by Artistic Tile drench walk-in showers with elegance and grandeur.u00a0

Meg Lonergan InteriorsnNestled underneath a scenic 70-foot-long loggia is an ode to Persephoneu2014the ancient Greek goddess of spring and the queen of the underworldu2014that, like the two realms she inhabited, offers ample room for indoor-outdoor entertaining. Sip tea at the stone-and-mosaic dining table or unwind with a spritz while splayed out on a sofa by McKinnon & Harris; elegant fabric drapes by Kravet and Sunbrella reveal the tropical foliage outside or tuck it away for a moment of fresh air and privacy. Paradise perfected.

Caroline Gidiere DesignnImagined as the ultimate sanctuary for the modern Palm Beach woman to retreat from the Worth Avenue bustle, this intimate lounge tucked right off the primary bedroom melds the panache of a membersu2019 club with the blush tones of a boudoir. Gidiere drew from classic interiors like Frances Elkinsu2019 ladiesu2019 dressing room and Billy Baldwinu2019s pink bedroom for Lee Radziwill in order to imagine tranquil environs to sip a pre-dinner cocktail or pen a handwritten note. The fantasia of salmon pink, lemon yellow, and palm green tones are enough to spring anyone into the Palm Beach mindset, especially when found on romantically ruffled fabrics and dazzling custom pieces, like a giant mirror adorned with dozens of salvaged seashells.

Laure Nell InteriorsnDrawing from the timeless elegance of French interiors, the primary bathroom was conceived as a metaphorical backstage where one gets ready for the grand performance. Francophilic touches abound, from the traditional parquet floors and Kravet leather-wrapped tub evoking a Louis Vuitton trunk to the black-and-white photographs from iconic French films picturing Jane Birkin applying lipstick. The piu00e8ce de ru00e9sistance is a striking hand-sketched plaster bas-relief mural that nods to the inspiring collaborations between French fashion houses African artisans.u00a0

Mally Skok DesignnThe gentlemanu2019s retreat is a veritable capsule of zen, blanketed nearly top-to-bottom in sumptuous textiles hand-painted Mally in rich African-inspired patterns. Chunky luminaires, modern bedside tables, and a striped rug sourced with the help of Vaughan Designs helps achieve the masculine vibe, which echoes in a pristine bathroom replete with red earth tones.
