Hunter Douglas Launches Cutting-Edge Technology at The Glass House

The new technology has an innovative design that blocks out 100 percent of light, even at the iconic glass-walled house

Hunter Douglas, the world’s leading manufacturer of custom window treatments, recently welcomed guests to The Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut for the launch of an amazing new blackout technology, the Duette LightLock system, which was engineered to prevent light leakage around the window and create a blissful, complete blackout effect — even in a house with glass walls.

Duette with LightLock provides homeowners with 100 percent total darkness for improved sleep or the perfect movie-watching environment, as well as insulation at the window to control heat and save on energy bills.

The new window treatments use unique U-shaped side channels that overlap the front and back of the shades. The secret to the total room darkening lies within the patent-pending side channel design, which features rows of specially shaped micro-ridges optimized to absorb or deflect incoming light while also preventing the light from seeping into the room.

The shades are available in three sleek finishes—Aspen White, Gardenia White, and Bronze—which allow them to perfectly blend into the window frame and coordinate with any design aesthetic.

The system is compatible with Hunter Douglas PowerView Motorization for easy control of shades via an app or with voice activation through Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant. The shades can even be scheduled to move automatically throughout the day.

The Duette LightLock system is available now at Hunter Douglas.
