Situated on a bustling corner in the vibrant Miami Design District, the Moore building has long lured art-minded visitors who come to take in the soaring Zaha Hadid art installation Elastika. But during last year’s Miami Art Week, the building opened the doors to offer an early preview of the site’s next chapter: as a mixed use space perfect for the neighborhood’s creative community to gather over dinner or cocktails, attend stirring cultural programming, take a meeting, or eventually, spend the night.

In May, the address started welcoming visitors to its on-site restaurant, aptly named Elastika for its location under the iconic site-specific artwork. Now, the building has realized its fullest potential with the opening of the boutique hotel accommodations. Featuring just 13 suites, The Hotel at The Moore boasts cozy, residential-style rooms conceived by Los Angeles firm Studio Collective in collaboration with iCrave. These fourth-floor retreats nod to the distinct aesthetic flavor of the structure and the surrounding environment, with an inspired mix of custom furniture, art, and decorative elements by furniture brand Mous and Sossego, a sustainably-focused collection based out of Brazil.

In the lobby, Elastika restaurant is available for adventurous, flavor-forward meals by Executive Chef Joe Anthony, who crafts plates as visually captivating as they are delicious, like green tomato carpaccio with Parma prosciutto, house-made ricotta, and romano bean salsa verde or grilled Florida sun shrimp with snap pea puree, pickled Swiss chard, and Meyer lemon jam.

As the city prepares to welcome a new wave of movers-and-shakers for the upcoming Art Week, the third floor co-working space The Workplace will be the spot to see and be seen. Every inch of the 90,000-square-foot site has been dramatically overhauled, offering a sensational new frame for that legendary sculpture, sure to be back in the spotlight again as the building hosts private events and art happenings surrounding the curated collection of works, organized by patron and art adviser Monika Kalpakian.
