Preview the 2024 Kips Bay Decorator Show House
The 49th edition, opening in New York’s Upper East Side neighborhood on May 1, will feature cinematic spaces by Shawn Henderson, Kit Kemp, Jeremiah Brent and more
On May 1, the eagerly anticipated Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York opens its doors. On view through May 28, the circa-1904 townhouse designed by notable architect Charles Platt at 125 East 65th Street will be completely transformed with extraordinary spaces by 24 designers including venerable talents and firms like Shawn Henderson, Aman & Meeks, Kit Kemp, and Workshop APD, the latter making their show house debut, alongside a melange of rising stars.
“This year’s New York Show House is a testament to the extraordinary talent and professionalism of our participating designers, who have worked tirelessly these past ten weeks to construct their spaces,” says James P. Druckman, President of the Board of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
The project, which attracts 15,000 visitors each year, raises funds for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, a storied organization that provides educational and developmental programming to children between six and 16 years old at nine locations in the Bronx.
Prior to the grand opening of the 49th edition of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, close to 800 designers, brand sponsors, and guests helped raise more than $1.4 million at the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club President’s Dinner. Taking place at Cipriani 42nd Street on April 8, the event honored Cullman & Kravis principal Ellie Cullman with the Lifetime Achievement Award and brand sponsor Cosentino.
Now, an enthusiastic design community will turn its attention to the grand reveal of the show house spaces. Here, the participants offer a hint at the magic to come with illustrations and renderings of their upcoming rooms.
