In the living room of an apartment that architect Lee Ledbetter designed for an art-collecting couple at The Carlyle hotel in New York, a Guy C. Wiggins painting overlooks a custom sofa flanked by 1940s French lounge chairs and a ’60s Philip and Kelvin LaVerne cocktail table. They are joined by brass lamps by Sylvan S.F., Louis XVI armchairs by Claude II Sene, and a Peter Lane ceramic drum table. A Paul Cornoyer painting hangs between the French doors, which are curtained in a Cowtan & Tout fabric.

In the dining room, Ledbetter devised verre églomisé panels by Vesna Bricelj—based on illustrations of Central Park he commissioned from Richard Haines—that conceal a recessed bar. A ’30s Gio Ponti chandelier hangs above the custom- made, neoclassical-style table, topped by a Pamela Sunday sculpture and paired with 1955 André Arbus chairs from Maison Gerard that are upholstered in a Brunschwig & Fils velvet.

The kitchen features bespoke walnut cabinets with antiqued mirror panels by Stephen Cavallo, Jean Perzel ceiling lights, Waterworks sink fixtures, and a vintage Anatolian runner. A ’30s pendant by Francesco Zecchin and Napoleone Martinuzzi hangs above a custom-made table in the breakfast nook at the back.

In the guest room conservatory, a ’50s settee attributed to Jacques Adnet and vintage French campaign chairs are grouped with an Alberto Giacometti–style floor lamp by Frances Elkins, a vintage faux-bois side table, and a Turkish Deco rug from Nazmiyal.

A painting by Frederick J. Mulhaupt overlooks the primary suite’s custom bed; Lee Ledbetter & Associates designed the bench clad in a Clarence House jaguar print, the waxed-walnut closets with nickel-plated brass inlays, the rug, and the window banquette, which is joined by a T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings side table from 1940.
