Louis Vuitton and UNICEF Celebrate 10 Years of Collaboration
Other anniversary editions include an extraordinary timepiece named the Louis Vuitton Unity Time Object, a new silver Lockit, and a re-release of the REBONDS book
Louis Vuitton and UNICEF first partnered ten years ago to fund a project aimed at protecting health, education, and safety for the world’s children. This year, the collaboration produced some special soccer-related luxury items up for auction as part of Sotheby’s Luxury Week, a reprint of their REBONDS book, and fresh versions of the Silver Lockit.
One highlight of the Sotheby’s sale is the Louis Vuitton Time Unity Object, a golden soccer ball-shaped timekeeping masterpiece that draws upon soccer, La Fabrique du Temps’ watchmaking workshop, and Vuitton’s luggage-making expertise. To call it a clock would be inadequate. “For this Louis Vuitton Unity Time Object, we chose a soccer ball—a theme that the house has long explored,” said Matthieu Hegi, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton artistic director, adding, “We were inspired to create this special piece of art that integrates subtle references to Louis Vuitton’s DNA and codes, while seamlessly merging our legacy with its modernity and contemporary vision of time.” The Louis Vuitton Time Unity Object comes in its own custom-built monogram trunk.
Also up for auction are copies of the Louis Vuitton REBONDS book and LV monogram soccer balls with their very own vachetta leather carrying nets, each signed by a celebrity. Actors Josh Hartnett and Chloë Grace Moretz, and director Ava DuVernay are among the famous names participating.
A dinner was held at Sotheby’s NYC headquarters at the restaurant Marcel to mark ten years of collaboration and to officially launch the auction of the Louis Vuitton Unity Time Object. It was attended by Jean Arnault, Watch Director at Louis Vuitton, Kitty Van Der Heijden, UNICEF’s Deputy Executive Director Partnership, Dame Pat McGrath, Cosmetics Creative Director at Louis Vuitton, Derek Blasberg, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Leandra Medine, among others.
The Louis Vuitton for UNICEF Auction closes on June 18, 2026.
