Iconic French luxury brand Louis Vuitton and the Frick Collection commenced a three-year partnership with a splash last week when they premiered the Vuitton 2027 Cruise Collection in the galleries of the beloved museum. The collection, designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, wove themes from a range of eras that often crossed the Belle Epoque and Pop Art with the 1980s via nostalgic plays on what the future was supposed to look like.

Inspirations playfully jumped between feminine and bold. There were looks with clean lines and bright colors as well as ruffles and squiggle designs. Accessory options were truly a highlight. On the handbag front, many were decorated with Keith Haring motifs, and a few were shaped like Ionic columns. Haring’s designs were put to memorable use on lunchbox-shaped backs and Vuitton classics like the Alma, originally introduced in 1934.

Pietro Beccari, CEO of Louis Vuitton, commented, “Nicolas’s vision for the Cruise collections, consistently presented at extraordinary locations, enables us to create deeper connections between fashion, architecture, and culture. This sponsorship at the Frick not only reinforces Louis Vuitton’s dedication to supporting the arts but also illustrates how such exceptional venues become integral to the Louis Vuitton story, enriching our narrative with each collection.”

The partnership will benefit New Yorkers as well as the Frick and LV: Louis Vuitton will generously be sponsoring a year of free First Fridays. The museum will be open until 9 p.m. on the first Friday of every month (except January and September), making it a perfect post-work activity. Vuitton will also be the main benefactor for three major shows at the Frick in the next couple of years, including  Siena: The Art of Bronze, 1450–1500 (opening this fall) and a spring 2027 exhibition on French enameler Susanne de Court, who is considered the only female artist to have her own Limoges workshop.

Celebrities in attendance included Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams, Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, and Misty Copeland.
