Louis Vuitton Celebrates 130 Years of Its Iconic Monogram with Soho Pop-Up Space
The House is kicking off a year-long series of celebrations
This month marked the beginning of a year-long celebration hosted by Louis Vuitton in honor of its legendary Monogram, which first debuted 130 years ago as a tribute to Georges Vuitton’s father. As part of the celebrations, the House is inviting guests to visit an immersive pop-up space in Soho, which is modeled after a hotel with each room themed around an iconic accessory and its origins.
Guests can enter through the Keepall Lobby, which celebrates the Art of Travel, and then can venture into the Neverfull Gym, which plays on the beloved bag’s light weight and strength, before continuing to the Speedy Room 1930, which is adorned with Speedy bags. Next door, the Speedy P9 Safe Room is drenched in gold—a nod to Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams’s reinterpretation—while the Noé Champagne Bar pays tribute to its 1932 origin as a bag to carry five Champagne bottles. Lastly, the Alma Terrace draws inspiration from the Art Deco movement and invites guests to embrace Parisian allure.
The pop-up follows the unveiling of three special-edition collections of the Monogram, which launched on January 1. In the Monogram Origine Collection, the House revisits the pattern in a linen and cotton blend using a palette of soft pastel hues. The house pays tribute to its leather goods legacy with the VVN Collection, while the Time Trunk Collection bridges past and present and transforms heritage into artful illusion through bold trompe-l’oeil printing.
