Hinckley Yachts Celebrates Iconic Picnic Boat’s 30 Years at Sea with Luxurious Upgrade

The new model promises to offer every guest the best seat on board

No summer on the sea is complete without a picnic ride on an iconic Hinckley Yacht, at least according to Martha Stewart, who has owned her beloved vessel for 30 years. Stewart bought her Picnic Boat at the insistence of David Rockefeller Sr., who heralded the brand’s beautiful craftsmanship that’s become synonymous with the Hinckley Yachts’ name.

“You would think my boat was made yesterday because it’s in such good shape and has withstood the test of time,” Stewart said in an interview with Hinckley Yachts.

This summer, the brand has unveiled the all-new Picnic Boat 39, which is the company’s first-ever model in its 30-year history to offer forward seating. The new model, which is now available for pre-order, promises to offer every guest the best seat on board with three separate—but adjoined— seating areas.

Complete with the iconic Burmese teak deck, the new model also comes equipped with a smart sliding window mechanism, affording guests easy access to the foredeck.

“From its spacious layout to its advanced features, the Picnic Boat 39 ensures every moment on board is a celebration of adventure and unforgettable memories,” said Scott Bryant, Hinckley Yacht’s vice president of marketing and sales. “At Hinckley we have a meticulous approach to design, obsessing over the details, combining the best DNA of past models with the needs and desires of Hinckley customers today.”

The brand, which has been building yachts since 1928 but sticks to the 50-vessels a year formula, also included JetStick 4 technology for easy maneuvering out on the water on its latest version.

“The overall design language of the Picnic Boat 39 demonstrates our continued commitment to building beautiful, timeless, and highly innovative yachts,” Bryant added.

Owners of a Hinckley Yachts vessel—which range from 34 to 57 feet powerboats—will have access to nine service locations on the eastern seaboard, which offer concierge support and full-service operations for all makes and models. In the off-season, owners can store their boat in a state-of-the-art climate-controlled storage facilities located along the East Coast.
