Chanel’s Latest High Jewelry Is an Ode to the Legendary No. 5 Perfume
The stunning collection is on view at the new Peter Marino-designed boutique in Miami during Art Basel
Created by Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel in 1921, Chanel N°5 revolutionized the fragrance industry and remains one of the designer’s most enduring legacies. This year, to commemorate its 100th anniversary, Chanel has launched a stunning high-jewelry collection that is just as forward-thinking. “I sought inspiration in the fragrance by wondering how we were going to tell this story without being purely literal,” says Patrice Leguéreau, director of the Chanel Fine Jewelry Creation Studio. “I attempted to illustrate, without concession, the power, strength, femininity, and incredible richness of the fragrance.”

The 123-piece collection takes viewers on a journey through the legendary scent’s different components, from the geometric architecture of the bottle to its olfactory notes of abstract flowers. The extraordinary jewels will be on view at the new Peter Marino–designed concept store in the Miami Design District during Art Basel. “Gabrielle Chanel approached these two universes with the same visionary values, focusing on audacity and the quest for excellence. I wanted to rediscover that creative gesture.”
