A Look from Loewe’s Spring/Summer 2026 Collection Echos a Carol Bove Sculpture

By Lucy Rees

A standout of the Loewe spring/summer 2026 collection—the first under new creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez—this origami-inspired, leather shoe achieves its distinctive shape with no cuts or stitches, only crisp precision folds.

Swiss-born American artist Carole Bove is revered for transforming industrial materials into fluid, poetic forms that challenge the perception of weight and texture, as seen in her 2016 sculpture Mouse Hole. This spring, the largest presentation of her work to date is on view at the Guggenheim New York.

A Table by JMW Studio for Holly Hunt Channels the Concrete Grape Sculptures of Kathleen Ryan

By Lucy Rees

Available in playful groupings of clear or peach orbs, the Bubble table by JMW Studio for Holly Hunt balances a sleek limestone slab on handblown glass spheres of varying sizes.

To create her 2017 series “Bacchante,” artist Kathleen Ryan used concrete casts of balloons chained together to mimic clusters of ripe grapes in an exploration of tension and gravity.

A Look from Loro Piana’s Spring/Summer 2026 Collection Evokes an Abstract Masterpiece by Vasily Kandinsky

By Lucy Rees

Abstract art pioneer Vasily Kandinsky translated emotion and spirituality into vibrant visual symphonies. His 1913 masterpiece Painting with White Border, currently on view in “Collection in Focus: Modern European Currents,” at the Guggenheim New York, is among the artist’s first nonrepresentational works, concentrating instead on the pure distillation of color and form.

The spring/summer 2026 collection of Loro Piana celebrates fabric draping, elongated styles, and sartorial ease, as seen in the painterly Ludovica silk shirt, Corina skirt, and Artemide hat.

Nature-Inspired Earrings from David Yurman Mirror a Vivid Painting by Luiz Zerbini

By Lucy Rees

Modeled after a real plant, the white-gold and aluminum Palm Fronds Couture Monstera high-jewelry earrings by David Yurman capture the exquisite beauty of nature, embellished with a shimmering array of hand-set, bright green emeralds in varying sizes.

The sumptuous paintings of Luiz Zerbini are influenced by the modernist architecture and geometry of Brazil’s cityscapes and the vividness of the country’s tropical flora, as seen in this detail of Exótica (2023).
