Beverly Hills Estate That Includes Rod Stewart’s Former Mansion Sells for $86 Million
The property was most recently owned by Bradley Bell, executive producer and head writer of The Bold and the Beautiful

A historic Holmby Hills estate featuring Rod Stewart’s former mansion has sold to two separate buyers for a tremendous total of $86 million. It was most recently owned by Bradley Bell, executive producer and head writer of The Bold and the Beautiful, who had purchased the home from the rock icon.
The nearly six-acre property has been divided into two sections and sold separately, according to The Wall Street Journal. The larger parcel, which is nearly four acres and includes the main house, was sold for $57 million. The buyer was David Zander, a television, commercial, and film producer.
The second parcel, which features a circa-1911 cabin, was sold for approximately $29 million. The buyer was Nick Kaiser, co-founder of private equity firm Marlin Equity Partners.
Dating back to around 1925, this estate includes one of the first structures built in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Holmby Hills. In 1991, Rod Stewart paid approximately $12 million for an empty three-acre lot on the property. Bell reportedly later purchased additional acreage from neighbors who were longtime friends.
The property, along with the Richard Landry-designed main house, has been on and off the market for the past few years, at various listing prices. Landry is also the architect behind Dr. Dre’s château-style residence in Brentwood, California, which previously belonged to Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen. He often takes inspiration from classical European homes.
In total, the 28,500-square-foot main house and 4,500-square-foot guest house boast 13 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms. Inside the main house are Brèche de Vendôme marble floors, double-height walls flanked with several oil paintings, a dining room that seats 20 people, two fully-equipped gyms, a tearoom, and a green wood-paneled speakeasy.
The grounds of the property feature an expansive pool and spa, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, a full-size soccer field, and a motor court with a circular fountain at the center.
Drew Fenton, CEO and co-founder of Carolwood Estates, represented Zander, while Ben Bacall of Revel Real Estate represented the sellers.
