Louis Vuitton Unveils Le Café Cyril Lignac at Its New Shop in London’s Heathrow

For the fashion brand’s first partnership with the lauded French chef, the theme of travel couldn’t be any more relevant at the luxe airport café & boutique

Louis Vuitton has come a long way since its start as a Parisian trunkmaker in the 1800s, but the luxury maison continues to prove its mastery and savoir-faire when it comes to the art du voyage. The brand is no stranger to collaborations, inviting everyone from Jeff Koons to Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama to envision their leather bags as canvases, but its latest partnership is redefining the concept of a traditional boutique.

Following the 2023 Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, New York-based THEVERYMANY’s Marc Fornes joined forces once again with the maison to design the open, futuristic-style pavilion housing its first culinary concept in the United Kingdom: Le Café Cyril Lignac at Louis Vuitton, located inside Terminal 2 at London’s Heathrow airport.

Superstar French chef Cyril Lignac, known for his sleek bistros and namesake La Pâtisserie pastry and chocolate shops in London, Paris and Saint-Tropez, designed an all-day menu that is “easily understandable and yet very refined, mingling café classics with more personal creations for visual appeal and indulgence,” Lignac tells Galerie, referring to fare like lobster rolls, warm croque monsieur sandwiches, and his signature crab salad. “The café menu had to be coherent with the spirit of the maison while also corresponding with my cooking style.”

Joining the 20-plus Louis Vuitton restaurants, cafes, chocolate shops and lounges around the world everywhere from Doha International Airport to Le Café V in Tokyo’s Ginza district, Le Café Cyril Lignac is a seamless extension of the new boutique. A calm cocoon subtly separating the walk-in-only cafe from the bustling airport terminal, the curved space is crowned by a series of fan-like, leather emerald, cobalt and ruby Quetzal mobiles by atelier oï, part of Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades collection, designed to look like South American birds in flight overhead.

Retro-inspired decor is swathed in 1970s-era orange and poppy polka dots and zebra stripes, a playful juxtaposition with the elegant, monogrammed porcelain flower tile flatware from the Louis Vuitton Art de la Table collection. And what could be more indulgent of a moment pre-flight than a Louis Vuitton pastry that’s just as much a work of art as the plate it’s delicately sitting on?
