Loewe Revisits Gardens of Artist Albert York for Fall/Winter Collection

The American painter’s bucolic landscapes were intricately recreated for the fashion house’s ready-to-wear line

American artist Albert York earned a dedicated following with his small-scale artworks depicting potted flowers, cows in fields, and other scenes from his life on New York’s Long Island, where he lived until his death in 2009.

For Loewe’s fall/winter 2024 ready-to-wear collection, creative director Jonathan Anderson translated York’s bucolic landscapes and still lives into dresses, micro-mosaic rings, and biker boots. Some elements of York’s canvases were even intricately re-created in caviar beading, such as for the Squeeze Watercress bag.
