VIDEO: Thomas Lavin Talks About How Collecting Emerging Artists Can Electrify the Home

Editor in chief Jacqueline Terrebonne hosts a webinar with Lavin that reveals how he finds new talent and uses art to enliven interiors

In the winter issue of Galerie, design dealer Thomas Lavin opens up his Hollywood Hills home and his incredible collection of new art-world talents. The Los Angeles design dealer grew up in the Pacific Palisades, where he got his start collecting fine art and objects a local antiques shop when he was just 13 years old. That passion has since bloomed into a thriving business with two locations, one in West Hollywood’s Pacific Design Center and another at the Laguna Design Center in Orange County—both of which cater to a devoted clientele of top decorators and collectors who admire Lavin’s eye for spotting emerging and underrecognized talent in art as well as design.

Below, watch Lavin and Galerie’s editor in chief, Jacqueline Terrebonne, discuss the secrets behind how he finds new talent and uses art to enliven interiors.
