2. Fashion Designer Harris Reed Crafts New Line of Couture with Fromental Fabrics

It’s not unheard of for creative types to see a stunning bolt of fabric made for interiors and envision a beautiful blazer or tailored ensemble, however British American couturier Harris Reed recently transformed the hand-painted wall coverings of Fromental into red carpet-worthy works of art. Presented on the runway during London Fashion Week, the collection dubbed “The Aviary” reimagined new and celebrated patterns as sartorial masterpieces. Wilde Dreams, a new joint effort between Fromental and Harris Reed, features an electric spray of crimson branches against a deep peacock-shade moiré silk—a staggering print for both interiors and as a slinky column gown. Influenced by the output of René Lalique, Faisans is a dreamy monochromatic mural of graceful birds swooping through tall grass, which Harris Reed utilized for a bold suit with flared proportions. The joint effort is the second collaboration following the dramatic outfit Reed constructed for Demi Moore at this year’s Met Gala and the precursor to an exciting new development—a wallpaper and home accessories collection come early next year.—Jill Sieracki

3. Alexander May’s Gestural Furniture Debuts Pierre Augustin Rose in Soho

Since relocating his practice to New York, Alexander May—the creative director and founder of the Los Angeles hub Sized—has stayed in constant motion. He transformed Nordic Knots’s SoHo showroom into a 1970s-inspired lounge bathed in buttery yellows, launched a global campaign with USM Modular Furniture, devised theatrical scenography for a MAC Cosmetics rebrand celebration under Nicola Formichetti, and began developing his debut furniture collection. Amid this surge of projects, May rekindled his collaboration with French atelier Pierre Augustin Rose, first unveiled during Art Basel Paris in 2024. There, his gestural brushstrokes enlivened the brand’s sinuous forms with a patinated black-on-black allure. Their dialogue now extends to Pierre Augustin Rose’s new Manhattan gallery in SoHo’s historic Odd Fellows Hall, a 6,000-square-foot expanse of whitewashed brick and heavenly light at 224 Centre Street. “We’re weaving together different contexts into a single narrative—one where scale, material, and rhythm move fluidly between art, design, and architecture,” May says. “It’s about creating an environment that celebrates exchange while affirming the cultural vitality of both cities.” —Ryan Waddoups

4. Jessica McCormack Launches First High Jewelry Collection

Jessica McCormack’s first ever high jewelry collection, Tempest, takes inspiration from the enigmatic world of mythical sea spirits and ancient sirens. The 20-piece collection is a captivating study in choreographed movement, channeling the allure of these shapeshifting creatures. While honoring the brand’s signature “day diamonds” aesthetic, which deftly combines the grandeur of antique Georgian and Victorian designs with a modern, everyday sensibility, Tempest is distinguished by its array of rare and exceptional stones—diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and rubies—set from every angle to ensure optimal lighting. The technical heart of the collection is the masterfully engineered Scale Stack chain. Developed over months in the brand’s London workshop, this series of geometrically arranged setting links seamlessly interlocks. This tactile, under-the-sea motion is strikingly contrasted by an industrial-character clasp, creating a fascinating balance between softness and strength. Rhodium blackening is expertly used to maximize visual impact, distinguishing the glowing stones from their matte black settings. The collection is completed by one-of-a-kind solitaire pendants—including an 18.35-carat pear-shaped Ceylon sapphire—designed to glide along the necklaces, catching the light with every move.—Lucy Rees

6. At Paris Fashion Week, Sophie Dries Curates a Multisensory Salon for Keigan

During Paris Fashion Week, Shanghai-based womenswear label Keigan debuted its Genius Salon, a new platform devoted to creative exchange across fashion, art, and architecture. Curated by architect and designer Sophie Dries, the inaugural edition unfolded inside a historic apartment on Rue de Rivoli, its white-panelled rooms and neoclassical moldings overlooking the Tuileries Garden. Reviving the legacy of Paris’s Enlightenment-era salons—spaces where art, philosophy, and culture intertwined—Dries invited sculptor Marc Leschelier, floral artist Louis Géraud Castor, and the culinary studio Toutia to interpret Keigan’s codes through their own mediums. Leschelier skilfully paired construction materials with the brand’s premium fabrics; Castor arranged flowers with the elegance of draped silk; and Toutia served edible compositions inspired by Keigan’s textiles. Together, their contributions animated the salon’s theme of “aesthetic co-creation and positioned Keigan’s garments as an unlikely conduit between Shanghai’s modernist sensibilities and Parisian chic. —R.W.
