1. Louis Vuitton Spotlights Iceland, Mexico, and Scotland in Latest Fashion Eye Series

When it comes to Louis Vuitton, timeless fashion staples aren’t the only thing the beloved brand excels in. As part of their chic Fashion Eye series, which explores different regions of the world through the lens of noted fashion photographers, three new releases bring a whole new perspective to the countries of Iceland, Mexico, and Scotland. For each tome, a different photographer shares intimate imagery of the land and people of the regions, each bringing their own distinct style to the pages. For Mexico, Deborah Turbevilles eerie photography invokes a feeling of history and folklore while Jackie Nickerson’s portrayal of Iceland spotlights the areas lush landscape. Finally, Alasdair McLellan honors his father and family history in his deep dive through Scotland, where Scottish culture reigns king. Find the full collections here. —Shelby Black

3. Palm Beach Welcomes Glamorous New Boutique Hotel

Just in time for the jet set’s annual migration to South Florida for the winter season, a dazzling new 79-room hotel has opened in Palm Beach. Situated on a lush boulevard between bustling Worth Avenue and the Royal Poinciana Plaza, Palm House elevates the area’s customary coral palette into a glittering celebration of coastal grandeur. Entering the Palm Bar through the sweeping porte cochère, guests are greeted by two whimsical wall installations made using a shimmering mosaic of seashells by Christa Wilm that are surmounted by a pair of heavenly pink Murano-glass chandeliers. Marble floors, antiqued mirrored ceilings, and a multitude of artful embellishments add to the jewel-box atmosphere. In the dining room, Executive Chef de Cuisine Jerry Ayala cultivates a Japanese-meets-Peruvian menu influenced by his time working under famed toque Nobu Matsuhisa, while other public areas include a decadent spa with Natura Bisse products, contemporary art gallery curated by London-based Minda Dowling, and spirited pool area. “Palm House represents an evolution in Palm Beach, raising the bar on luxury while maintaining a playful edge,” said Chris Jaycock, general manager. “We look forward to graciously welcoming guests and locals for generations to come.” —Jill Sieracki

4. Wynn Fine Art Opens in Aspen

With its snow-capped mountains and picturesque beauty, the small mountain town of Aspen in Colorado has long boasted a vibrant arts scene, attracting art lovers in search of both culture and an inspiring getaway. Over the last decade, dozens of high-profile galleries have established outposts and the town has experienced something of an art renaissance. Now, just before the jet-set arrive for the holidays, a new gallery is about to open. Run by the stepson of mega-collector Steve Wynn, Wynn Fine Art Aspen will open its doors at 616 E. Hyman Ave. on December 20, located across from the Aspen Art Museum. The gallery, which already maintains a space in Palm Beach, will exhibit museum-quality works from the Steve Wynn collection, including pieces by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, and Roy Lichtenstein, alongside the likes of Yayoi Kusama, Ansel Adams, Keith Haring, Alex Katz and more. The cosy interior creates an inviting space thanks to the use of hand-crafted furnishings in sycamore, shagreen leather, and boucle by Maison Lee layered with accents like animal pelts, stone lamps, and Western artefacts in homage to the mountain’s history. “We are thrilled to be opening Wynn Fine Art Aspen this Winter, and to be bringing such fantastic works to the thriving Aspen art‘s scene,” says Nick Hissom, director.—Lucy Rees

5. At Alaïa’s London Flagship, an Artful Bookstore and Café

It’s no secret that Azzedine Alaïa lived a life brimming with fashion, art, design, and literature. Years after his death, the couturier’s namesake Paris foundation remains a crucial arbiter of his legacy—and a venue for discovering the trove of artworks, collectible design, and fashion rarities he amassed over his lifetime. Now, visitors to his maison’s London flagship on New Bond Street will receive a deeper look inside his mind courtesy of a bookstore and café that recently opened on the second floor. It’s the result of a partnership with Claire de Rouen, a staple in London’s literary scene renowned for its curated collection of signed and hard-to-find photography, fashion, and art titles. With its enviable location overlooking the crystal-clear water of Austria’s Salzkammergut lakes region and beautifully orchestrated interiors, the Rosewood Schloss Fuschl is already a dreamy sight. Yet, for festive season, the retreat is teaming up with leading crystal purveyor Swarovski on a sparkling afternoon tea at the hotel’s Sissi Tea Salon. Here, mouthwatering light bites are served on Swarovski’s porcelain Signum tableware while crystal ornaments, festive garland, and decorative objets punctuate the destination’s cozy Alpine environs. The partnership is just one element in the Austrian destination’s vibrant celebration of the holidays—visitors to the location can also browse the picturesque winter market and shop for seasonal goods and locally made crafts, or take part in traditional festivities, like the perchten, a longstanding folk custom aimed to drive away the evil winter spirits, or the glöcklerläufe, a wonderland-like parade of gleaming handmade lanterns.—J.S.
