Living room walls finished in vivid Venetian plaster serve as a backdrop for a large painting by Joe Overstreet inside Chicago’s Art Deco Palmolive Building. Designer Steven Gambrel, who collaborated with Liederbach & Graham Architects on the project, installed midcentury Swedish brass theater chandeliers above a seating area with a custom sofa, vintage Dominique-style armchairs, and a 1970s cocktail table by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne on one side and a pair of Roman Thomas chairs flanking a T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings stool opposite.

In the dining room, painted in glossy Benjamin Moore hues, Dune fabricated the églomisé mirror–top table, which was designed by Gambrel’s company, and the custom chairs with backs upholstered in a Fortuny fabric; a FontanaArte light fixture from Donzella descends from above. A Joe Overstreet painting is displayed over a vintage Paul Evans cabinet, the curtains are a Romo fabric, and the rug is by Marc Phillips.
