A Roman torso of Hermès presides over the far end of the living area, which is bookended by a pair of Michael Berman sofas and 1930s Paul Dupré-Lafon side tables. The seating group in the foreground features two pairs of vintage André Arbus armchairs, the set on the right upholstered with needlepoint panels made by Thomas himself. On the stone plinth, an De Coene Frères desk from the ’30s stands next to an Hervé Van der Straeten lacquer cabinet with antique Coromandel panels.

In the California home’s new library sitting area, Thomas hung Andy Warhol’s 1981 portraits of him and mounted a Donald Judd sculpture above the fireplace; a Gregorius Pineo sofa and cocktail table are joined by vintage armchairs once in designer John Dickinson’s San Francisco home. 

In the living area, an antique Japanese garden trellis stands near a Biedermeier pedestal table that hosts an ancient Anasazi vessel and a sculpture by Joseph Rivière; the lantern on the floor is by Luciano Tempo and a figure by Deloss Webber rests
on a Jean Dunand cocktail table from the 1930s.

Works from Andy Warhol’s “Cowboys and Indians” series enliven a hallway in the home of designer Roger Thomas in Marin County, California.

A Chuck Close lithograph of artist James Siena hangs in the dining area above a cast-concrete console by Thomas. 

The new guest bath is lined in travertine and outfitted with shower fixtures designed by Thomas for Speakman; the stool was designed by Jean-Michel Frank.

Thomas furnished the primary bedroom with a bed he designed
for Quintus, which is upholstered in one of his leathers for Moore & Giles. The painting is by Martin C. Herbst.

A 19th-century sculptural fragment stands on the loggia off the bedrooms. 

The couple’s Northern California home, designed by Daniel Solomon and renovated by Kuth Ranieri Architects, sits on eight wooded acres in Marin County.
