This $218 Million Private Island Is the Most Expensive Listing in Florida

A breathtaking 21,400-square-foot mansion will soon be complete on two-acre Tarpon Isle in Palm Beach

Few luxuries compare to owning your own private island, and now one is for sale in the country’s hottest real estate market: Palm Beach. Listed for an eye-watering $218 million, the man-made 10 Tarpon Isle is not just the only private island in the glitzy South Florida enclave, but the property has eclipsed Larry Ellison’s $150 million North Palm Beach compound to become the most expensive property for sale in the entire state. Best of all, a soon-to-be completed mansion features a wealth of amenities that will make it so you never have to leave your own private oasis.

Set on a little over two acres, the 21,400-square-foot residence developed by Todd Michael Glaser will eventually hold 11 bedrooms, 15 full baths, and seven powder rooms. This total includes spaces inside the attached guest house, which was originally built in 1939 by architect Howard Major and is now being renovated by West Palm Beach architect Roger Janssen.

DESTINATIONS

Why Buying a Private Island Is Easier Than You Think

In addition to providing enough space to host numerous house guests, a remarkable amount of amenities are slated to be included as a part of the property. Inside, a library and home theater provides around-the-clock entertainment, while a personal massage room, hair salon, sauna-equipped-gym, and wine room allow you to wind down at the end of the evening. Outside, a large lighted tennis court takes over one side of the compound.

Glasser originally bought the island last year for $85 million, marking the first time the property’s ownership has changed since 1998. It is currently listed with Christian Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate.
