The former London sub-penthouse of legendary musician Mick Jagger recently sold for £5.5 million, or approximately $7.3 million. A lucky Rolling Stones fan was the buyer of the dwelling, which was on the market for just 16 weeks. The buyer plans to use the home as his pied-à-terre.

The 2,495-square-foot home boasts four bedrooms and is situated within a building known as Harley House, located in the London neighborhood of Marylebone. Jagger partied here with then-girlfriend Marianna Faithfull, Princess Margaret, and bandmate Keith Richards, who liked to crash here afterward. Beauchamp Estates had the listing, which marked the first time in over 30 years that this residence was for sale.

The Mick Jagger-approved home features 10-foot-high ceilings, an open-plan kitchen/breakfast room, two interconnected reception rooms, and more. Jagger signed a lease on the sub-penthouse in 1966 and subsequently turned the home into a hippie-style escape. Jagger moved out in early 1968 after purchasing an apartment in London’s Belgravia district.

“We are delighted to have sold the former London home of rock legend Mick Jagger to a discerning domestic UK buyer,” said listing agent Rosy Khalastchy of Beauchamp Estates Director & Head of St John’s Wood Office. “Offering substantial lateral living on the doorstep of Regent’s Park, the sub-penthouse provides ample bedrooms and large reception rooms. The listing attracted significant interest from discerning buyers and fans of the Rolling Stones from around the world.”

Khalastchy added, “Celebrity-linked homes always generate interest and excitement with applicants. Some purchasers like to have ‘buyer’s bragging rights,’ so they can tell all their friends and business associates that they own a trophy home formerly owned by a famous A-list celebrity.

“There is also the value of celebrity endorsement, so a buyer will think, ‘Well, if that house or penthouse is good enough for that famous person, it is certainly good enough for me.’ I think this is why the number of offers for A-lister-linked homes is much higher than the norm. This is hard to put an actual price on, but for sales and marketing, it is highly valuable.”
