To represent your nation at the Olympics, you must be the crème de la crème of your chosen sport—which is why it should come as no surprise that Louis Vuitton will be on stage next to these gifted athletes in Paris playing a vital role of their own at the games.

The luxury brand was tasked with several coveted roles at this year’s Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games, each coming with monumental responsibilities. Earlier this month, the powerhouse fashion label unveiled the Louis Vuitton Torch Trunk, which will house Mathieu Lehanneur’s beautiful crafted and designed Olympic Torch.

“We are honored and extremely proud to be part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 with the mission of packing and presenting the defining symbols of Paris 2024: the victors’ medals and the torches of the Olympic flame,” said Pietro Beccaro, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton also played a pivotal role in the 2024 Olympic Torch Relay, with the torch making a special stopover at the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Jardin d’Acclimation on July 15. Approximately 30 employees also participated in living chain of over 10,000 torchbearers who completed the relay.

Also taking center stage at this year’s games are Louis Vuitton’s medal trays, which were crafted by the brand’s artisans at its Beaulieu-sur-Layon workshop in the Maine-et-Loir region of France. The trays are sheathed in the Damier canvas, which dates back to 1888, and the interior is lined with the matte-black leather in a nod to the trunks that will house the torch and trays.

The trays are being housed in the specialized medal trunks, which is covered in the Monogram canvas and features brass corners and closures like those used on the brand’s iconic luggage trunks. Each trunk holds up to 468 medals ready to be presented to the Olympic winners.

“For over 170 years, Louis Vuitton has been creating trunks that embody excellence, creativity and audacity, values we share with the world’s greatest sporting events,” Beccaro said. “Louis Vuitton and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 share common values such as the quest for excellence, creativity, and the beauty technique. Once again, victory travels in Louis Vuitton.”
