As a pioneer of modern Korean cuisine, Jungsik Yim has set a new standard not just for East Asian cooking but for the full spectrum of epicurean greatness. His Michelin two-star namesake restaurants, located in Seoul and New York’s Tribeca neighborhood, have electrified the haute foodie scene for their fresh takes on tradition.

Now, with the more casual, seafood-focused SEA (which stands for Southeast Asian), situated in Manhattan’s Chelsea, the chef offers more inventive surprises, such as his innovative preparation of crispy pork paired with a spicy Thai nam jim sauce as well as a not-to-be-missed crab fried rice. SEA is open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. beginning August 21.
