6 Jewelry Trends to Look Out for at the Golden Globes 2026

This weekend, celebrity trendsetters will usher in a season of sweeping couture ballgowns, glittering sheaths, and custom suiting, all accented with jewelry of the highest order

At the 2025 Golden Globes, Zendaya chose a Bulgari necklace in platinum with 1 oval paraiba tourmaline and over 48 carats of diamonds which she paired with a high jewelry paraiba tourmaline ring and diamond stud earrings.

The 2026 awards show season is underway, kicking off with the Golden Globes on January 11. We’ll be watching for bold continuations of established red carpet jewelry trends, and early indicators of what’s next, from glittering hairpins and corsage-sized diamond brooches to recurring colored gemstones across multiple looks. Lorraine Schwartz, Boucheron, Tiffany & Co., Chopard, and Cartier always have our attention on the Golden Globes red carpet, as do heat-bringers like Timothée Chalamet, Cynthia Erivo, and other stars who revel in wearing jewelry and watches.

See below for our predictions of what to expect at the Golden Globes 2026:

1. Brooches (for Everyone)

Male celebrities started this burgeoning red-carpet trend (Jared Leto may have been the first to place a gem-set brooch on his tuxedo-jacket lapel). Tiffany’s Bird on a Rock brooch has swooped in on several occasions, adorning everyone from Odell Beckham Jr. and Jay Z to Jeremy Allen White. Now, a full-on brooch revival—for women—is underway, making them destined to pop up on this year’s Golden Globes red carpet and beyond. One recent example: Keri Russell pinned a Boucheron New Sarpech diamond brooch featuring a 6.26-carat emerald to her Tom Ford suit for the 2026 Critics Choice Awards.

2. Hair Jewels

Whether it’s a dainty hairpin or a trail of them enhancing a dramatic updo, as seen on Megan Thee Stallion at the 2025 Meta Gala), gem-accented hair accessories (including headbands, circlets, and even tiaras) always add something unexpected—and regal—to red carpet looks. They can add just a hint of sparkle or be the “main event,” ensuring the star shines from all angles. See Dakota Johnson’s Boucheron “head jewel” at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival for inspiration, or revisit Lupita Nyong’o’s well-placed pearls at the 2025 Oscars.

3. Emeralds

You can thank Elizabeth Taylor for cementing a forever association with Hollywood royalty and emerald jewels. Over the last decade or so, the green gem has increased in popularity—and magnitude—from dramatic drop earrings to palm-sized pendants. Consider 2024’s headline-making wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, where some of the emeralds were “almost the size of popsicles.” At the 2025 Met Gala, Priyanka Chopra’s Bulgari necklace featured a 241.06-carat emerald, the largest faceted stone the house has ever mounted in a design. Actress Sarah Snook wore comparatively daintier emerald and diamond earrings by Chopard to the Critics’ Choice Awards earlier this year. Suffice to say, we are expecting a treasure trove of emeralds to spill onto the Globes red carpet, with many more appearances to come.

4. Desert Diamonds

Last fall, De Beers formally unveiled its Desert Diamonds campaign, a robust effort amplified by influencers, celebrities and ad spots during NFL games. The premise of the campaign is that diamonds in rarely-seen shades of honey, cinnamon, chestnut, amber, whiskey, and cocoa put a compelling visual on the stones’s natural origins. De Beers has always been a red-carpet power player, and the Golden Globes 2026 will be the first major star-studded event following the launch. It stands to reason that quite a few celebs will reach for diamonds in this unique palette, almost certainly with the luxe yellow varieties leading the charge.

5. Onyx

Recent high jewelry collections from Cartier, Boucheron, and Messika have highlighted the graphic impact of this black stone alongside white diamonds for a striking, architectural contrast. It’s a classic pairing born in the Art Deco era that is well suited to evening attire, whether a black lace column gown by Dior or a white wool-and-satin dinner jacket by Celine. Art Deco is especially influential right now, marking 100 years since the seminal Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes of 1925. So be on the lookout for red‑carpet jewels that echo this defining era, one of the most important in jewelry history.

6. Torques

Dramatic statement necklaces have dominated the red carpet for several seasons, especially ornate styles that highlight precious colored gems paired with a flurry of diamonds. One trending necklace style marks a departure from the norm: Torques put a fiercely modern and sophisticated twist—literally—on tradition and will likely resurface with prominence on the Globes red carpet. Recall Zendaya’s substantial diamond-encrusted torque from the 2025 Oscars and Miley Cyrus’s triple-row necklace in 18k white and yellow gold at the 2025 Met Gala, artfully looped around the high neck of her gown. Both jewels were from Cartier, so maybe there will be more torques from this maison at the Golden Globes 2026 and other red carpet events that mandate a bold approach to jewelry style.
