When the summer heat blankets Manhattan, New Yorkers routinely migrate east to the Hamptons, finding refuge in their seasonal homes along the South Fork’s beautiful beaches. And while most choose to furnish these retreats with “laid-back luxury,” these refreshing interiors are indeed decorated with aesthetics top of mind.

Fortunately, the East End is a shopper’s paradise with a multitude of boutiques offering exquisite furnishings, sumptuous linens, eye-catching tableware, and unique decorative objets. Those looking for a one-stop destination for curated collections of design pieces and artful accents should pop into Jetsam Studio in Southampton, where Ralph Lauren alum Quinn Pofahl has culled together inspired selections sure to elevate any living space.

Inside Pofahl’s boutique in Southampton Village, works by icons of design are mixed with gallery-worthy artworks, allowing for a truly immersive experience.

Jetsam Studio carries iconic designs from Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand and Le Corbusier, Andre Sornay and Jean Royère, Pofahl tells Galerie. “It includes significant designs and sculpture, decorative arts, and ceramics, with special emphasis on French, post-war design. We also carry handmade custom upholstered pieces that can be crafted to individual client needs.”

To fully highlight the array of pieces inside the 2,000-square-foot space, Jetsam Studio regularly hosts rotating art exhibitions. This summer, guests can stop by to view photographic works from Amanda Means, Ellen Carey, and Scott Morgan, among others.

“One of my roles at Ralph Lauren was to create window concepts globally, so I really love creating environments at street level that are constantly changing,” says Pofahl, whose mission at the store is to create an immersive experience that engages with the public, as opposed to a sedentary storefront. “You never know who will walk by and hopefully find inspiration.”

In addition to notable pieces available to shoppers seeking that extra special touch, Jetsam Studio also offers both interior and exterior design services for residential and commercial spaces. As a Southampton local, and with over 20 years in the field, Pofahl’s projects are not only timeless, but a love letter to the Hamptons.

“I’ve always found inspiration from the environment here, and the way people live with the easy comfort and natural surroundings,” says Pofahl of the Hamptons summer residents. “There are clients all over, but I love having Southampton as my home base.”
