God’s Love We Deliver Celebrates Special Evening at Lisa and James Cohen’s Hamptons Estate
The charity held its annual Midsummer Night Drinks soiree in support of the group’s lifesaving meal program for New Yorkers living with severe and chronic illness
Every year, God’s Love We Deliver hosts its annual Midsummer Night Drinks event to support its lifesaving, medically tailored meal program that delivers nutritious food directly to New Yorkers suffering from severe and chronic illness. This year’s soiree was held on Saturday evening at the oceanfront East Hampton estate of Galerie Magazine Founder and Editorial Director Lisa Fayne Cohen and husband, James Cohen.
“I’m so proud to be part of this God’s Love We Deliver, which means so much to so many people,” Lisa Fayne Cohen told to guests gathered at the event. “It’s absolutely wrapped around love, because food is love and love is food. We’re so honored to be a connector as hosts of Midsummer Night Drinks, bringing together so many people who are all about love and doing things for our neighbors who really need help.”
Notable guests including Kyle MacLachlan, Desiree Gruber, Victoria Brito, Joseph La Piana, Fern Mallis, Countess LuAnn deLesseps, and Geoffrey Bradfield mingled over lawn games, delicious bites, and drinks provided by Dry Farm Wines Bar, as classic French jazz was played by the Carte Blanche Jazz Band.
The night also featured a live auction conducted by Harry Santa-Olalla, with guests bidding to fund meals for a client living with illness for one year, to purchase a delivery van for God’s Love, and to sponsor other program items. Among the covetable experiences on offer was a seven-night luxury cruise to Alaska aboard the Seven Seas Explorer, operated by Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
“We were delighted to be hosted at the Cohen’s spectacular house in East Hampton,” remarked David Ludwigson, President & CEO of God’s Love We Deliver. “The demand for our life-saving services is exponential; nights like this one help us give critical support for New Yorkers who need our help. Events like this help us critical work nourishing New Yorkers who are experiencing life altering diagnoses.”
In 2023, God’s Love We Deliver distributed more than 4.3 million meals—an agency record—to more than 159,500 individuals. This figure represents a 25 percent year-over-year increase, and events such as this one at the Cohen’s estate go a long way toward expanding the group’s crucial programing. The evening’s sponsors included Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Dry Farm Wines, New York Cocktail Co., Hampton Water Rose, Canard, Inc., Dan Klores Communications, and Paul Wilmot Communications.
