Established in 2007 by Marc Benda, veteran art dealer Barry Friedman (now retired), and founding partner Jennifer Olshin, Friedman Benda has dedicated itself to giving artists and designers a unique platform for showing and selling art. The Chelsea, New York, gallery’s roster features influential talents such as Ettore Sottsass, Ron Arad, the Campana Brothers, Daniel Arsham, and Wendell Castle, who crafted a magnificent bronze bench that is on view at the Galerie House of Art and Design.

In recent years, the gallery has also put an emphasis on emerging designers, bolstering the careers of Adam Silverman and Brooklyn talent Misha Kahn. Through August 13, the gallery is presenting the first exhibition by Los Angeles–based Swiss artist Carmen D’Apollonio. Self-taught in the ceramics discipline, D’Apollonio titled her exhibition “Don’t Wake the Snake” to represent a culmination of the seven-year development of her studio practice

The Galerie House of Art and Design will kick off with a VIP event on August 5, with public viewings taking place from August 7 through September 6. Click here to view the full list of participating galleries and artists. Purchase tickets here.
