The joint effort will elevate the Galleria d’Arte on vessels Explora I and Explora II with curated collections featuring works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, David Hockney, and more

Stepping on board the Explora I cruise ship from Explora Journeys, one of the first moments guests encounter is a well-stocked library of brightly colored volumes. However, this isn’t a standard collection of poolside reads, but the art installation British Library by Yinka Shonibare (a similar work appeared at London’s Tate Modern in 2022). From there, a dulcet passageway leads towards the ship’s Galleria d’Arte, a gallery at sea that on both Explora I and Explora II have hosted rotating exhibitions of museum-worthy artworks by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, among others.

Now, Explora Journeys and parent company MSC Group is elevating their art experiences through a partnership with London gallery Clarendon Fine Art. “This partnership allows us to expand the cultural dimension of our Journeys in a way that feels both authentic and deeply enriching,” says Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys. “Art has always been at the heart of the Explora Journeys’ experience, not simply as décor, but as an expression of taste, heritage, and discovery. Together with Clarendon Fine Art, we can offer our guests something truly exceptional: the opportunity to engage with and acquire gallery-grade works of art in a sophisticated, private setting—not only in the world’s most captivating destinations, but also at sea.”

Rotating exhibitions of paintings, fine art photography, and more will feature a range of contemporary artists, from Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, and Andy Warhol to Pop and street art talents like Mr. Brainwash and Christian Hook. But not just culturally rich displays, the pieces are also available for purchase through Clarendon Fine Art, who will handle all the logistics of the acquisition. Additionally, the gallery will host an onboard Art Luminary and Enrichment Program that will provide guests with educational seminars around collecting, emerging art trends, and the cultural impact of art.
