Discover How Azimut Blends Italian Craftsmanship with High-Performance Yachting
With stunning interiors conceived by Achille Salvagni and pristine engineering, these vessels are transforming life on the water
From the mountains of Avigliana in northern Italy to the calmness of the Caribbean Sea, guests on board an Azimut vessel enjoy an experience rooted in timeless elegance, flawless engineering, and bespoke finishes that have become synonymous with the brand. The Azimut Fly 68, for instance, with stunning interiors conceived by designer Achille Salvagni, does not sacrifice artisan touches such as stone finishes and structural stateroom windows for the sake of speed; it entertains both.
“We all battle time,” Chuck Cashman, senior vice president of Global Yacht Sales at MarineMax, the exclusive dealer of Azimut Yachts in the U.S., tells Galerie. “[The Azimut Fly 68] will run 30 miles per hour, so if you get off late on a Thursday and you want to do a long weekend on Nantucket from Boston, you can make it.” And that’s what several Azimut owners did recently, for a rendezvous hosted on Nantucket that included the christening of a Seadeck series vessel, and served as a joyous reunion for longtime friends, many of whom are repeat owners.
The Fly series cuts through the water at impressive speeds with a sleek exterior designed by Alberto Mancini, whose passion for automotive design influences his penchant for creating sculptural silhouettes with clean lines. “There is something therapeutic about being on a boat at 25 miles per hour on a nice day just enjoying the ride,” says Cashman. “But you also want to get to where you’re going—and even though a boat is a magical way to get from Point A to Point B, you still want to be at Point B.”
During that ride, the on-board experience is a personal affair. From adding extra space to lounge in the sun to an option for a semi-hidden galley layout, the options for added sophistication are seemingly endless. Salvagni’s sculptural interiors in muted colors allow for a modern, clean feel, while structural glass windows in the stateroom suites let in maximum natural light. From an engineering standpoint, Azimut is a captain’s dream. Using a pod and joystick technology, the yacht is both highly efficient and extremely maneuverable.
In addition to the Fly series, which includes the Fly 53, Fly 60, Fly 62, Fly 68, Fly 72, Fly 78, and Fly 82, Azimut also offers the Seadeck series, the S series, the Magellano series, the Verve series, the Atlantis series, and the Grande series.
