Furniture by Orior exudes a sense of permanence, and that’s exactly how the team behind the brand’s reinvention likes it. Ciaran McGuigan, whose parents, Rosie and Brian McGuigan, founded the company in 1979, works alongside Jordan Trinci-Lyne and Jean Morana on a new generation of products for the Irish furniture maker.

The trio, who met on the soccer team at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), look to both Irish materials and the skilled artisans who have made the firm’s furniture for decades for inspiration. Standouts include the Easca coffee table, which features a chunky top fashioned from melted-down Irish crystal paired with stocky, teardrop legs made of Irish green marble. That same striking stone is also showcased in versions of the Brutalist-influenced Marmar table while other species are the stars of a new series of solid marble planters.

International relations: “I’ve been in Ireland for the most of 2023, Jean’s been in Norway, and Jordan in New York,” says McGuigan. “But when the three of us get together, we’re each bringing a different perspective and set of inspirations.”

One for all: “When you look at the 20-some pieces we’ve created, there’s a language that ties them together, and that’s because the same artisans have made them all,” says McGuigan. “They can each stand on their own and are powerful enough to be individual entities.”
