For much of the globe, December weather is terribly frightful, with cold winds, grey skies, and even the occasional white-out blizzard. But that also makes the perfect opportunity to savor time at home, out of the elements and in front of a warming fire, glass of rich Bordeaux in hand. Adding to the allure are fashionable accessories and decorative accents crafted from sumptuous textiles that offer a cozy cocoon from winter’s worst. Blacksaw founders Steph and Kyle Taylor create the black-and-white stripe Siempre throw from recycled pieces of baby alpaca off-cuts, which are shredded and spun into yarn for a debonair blanket that is both luxurious and eco-friendly.

New York–based Maison Atia creates vivacious faux-fur fashions including an ultra-plus trench, bejeweled pouches, and festive headbands. Their faux-shearling pull-through scarf comes in a cheerful shade of Christmas red that’s as warming as it is eye-catching.

5. Maharam

The leading textile company has translated its signature Passel textile into a new collection of cozy throws. The preppy tweed pieces, available in sandy Coati, rust-like Dashiki, and blue-black Rosella, are made in France from a brushed wool-mohair blend that’s finished with a three-inch fringe.

6. Gaziano & Girling

Saville Row shoemakers Gaziano & Girling have created these regal slippers for men and women from a luxurious jade velvet. Hand-embroidered with the crest of famed London hotel Claridge’s, these British-style loafers offer all the decadence of a five-star hotel stay right at home.

7. Loro Piana

The distinguished cashmere purveyor has recently expanded into decadent new realms with its Art of Wellbeing collection, which includes meditation mats, yoga socks, and other fitness gear. Also new this season is the Royal College Inside Out M bag. Made in Italy, the roomy, reversible tote features a cashmere tartan side and a buttery calfskin layer with embroidered leather handles. Additionally, the brand will donate a blanket to Save the Children with every purchase made through December 24.

8. Kashmir Loom

After bonding over their shared passion for traditional Indian rugs, textile historian Jenny Housego and Asaf Ali launched Kashmir Loom, which creates extraordinary handcrafted shawls. Artisans in family-run studios in Kashmir weave pashmina into intricate patterns, such as this hand-loomed Kani Weave shawl, which works as both a stylish wrap or unique bed throw.

A veteran of Ralph Lauren Home, Brooklyn artist Sean McNanney designs graphic blankets that are handmade in Mongolia using cashmere, camelhair, and yak down. The 100 percent cashmere Trompe L’oeil throw blanket, which comes in Lime green, Pigment blue, or Plaster brown, is inspired by the decorative painting technique.
