Arnold Palmer’s California Estate Is on the Market for $5 Million
Built in 1999 by the late golf legend, the property is part of the Tradition Golf Club in La Quinta and is just steps away from the clubhouse
The former residence of late American golfer Arnold Palmer is on the market, for $5 million. Built in 1999 for Palmer, the dwelling is part of the Tradition Golf Club in La Quinta, California. Palmer lived at the property until his death, at age 87, in 2016.
The four bedroom, four bath property boasts 2,617 square feet and sits on .39 acres. Palmer selected this particular lot given its proximity to the clubhouse, as well as its scenic views of the nearby awe-inspiring mountains. The home is located on the second fairway of the golf club’s short course, which Palmer designed and would use to practice.

Tamara Baron and Mike Patakas of Desert Sotheby’s International Realty have the listing. Baron tells Galerie, “It’s 164 steps from his home to the clubhouse, which [Palmer] enjoyed immensely during his time in the desert. He called his desert home ‘Rancho Relaxo.’”
The current owner, Louise Bellisimo, purchased the estate in 2022 and is responsible for the property’s recent renovations. She recently told Bloomberg, “The view is so spectacular that we opened up the whole back of the house.”

This Californian hacienda-style abode features an open-concept living space, heated pavers from Arto Saltillo, a great room with 16-foot-high wood beam ceilings, a wooden front door, floor-to-ceiling glass doors, a fireplace, and a walk-in closet. Additionally, there is a fully remodeled primary bathroom, with custom built-in cabinets, limestone countertops, and fixtures from Axor.
The guest quarters—located on the opposite side of the main living section—include two en-suite bedrooms, both of which lead to a private patio. This area is separate from the primary suite, allowing for maximum privacy.

Additionally, the kitchen has been updated to have DeWils shaker cabinetry, appliances by Fisher & Paykel, and Caesarstone countertops. As for the outdoor space of this property, the rear patio has been expanded, by extending its Saltillo tiles. Two leather armchairs that previously belonged to Palmer are also part of the sale.
