Jamie Drake Conceives an Interior Inspired by a Stunning Carrie Moyer Work
Galerie asked the leading designer to curate a room using a favorite artist’s colorful canvas
An art collector himself, Jamie Drake creates glamorous interiors with a strong sense of personality and place. A mix of artists and mediums activates many of the homes he devises, along with one-of-a-kind artisan touches such as those created by the Alpha Workshops, where he serves on the board as chair.
“From the first time I saw her work, I was drawn to Carrie Moyer,” says Drake. “The lushness and sensuality of her compositions and palettes are compelling to me. To complement this landscape flattened into abstraction, I chose pieces that repeat the forms and colors and take that energy off the wall and into the space.”
