Bulgari Celebrates Latest Chapter of Serpenti Infinito with Stunning High Line Installation
After the unveiling of auruBOROS—Urban Memory and Collective Dream, the evening’s festivities continued at Boom at The Standard
On Wednesday evening, Bulgari unveiled auruBOROS—Urban Memory and Collective Dream, a dazzling sculpture on New York’s High Line by Berlin-based duo Plastique Fantastique. The monumental, open-air installation marks the latest chapter in the journey of Serpenti Infinito.
Guests including Anne Hathaway, Dua Lipa, Hudson Williams, and Lisa mingled as they moved about the sculpture against the backdrop of New York City. On view from now through September 20, auruBOROS—Urban Memory and Collective Dream epitomizes the ever-evolving dialogue between the Serpenti icon and creative expression. Visitors are encouraged to interact and move through the massive coils, finished in gold to reflect an ever-changing environment.
The sinuous curves of auruBOROS wind though the platform under The Standard near Little West 12th Street in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, forming a pneumatic double helix that reflects the viewer and their surroundings in warmly metallic tones that naturally converse with the time of day. At this party in particular, it made for a playful backdrop that aptly referenced the host. Yena Young and Marco Canevacci, the duo behind Plastique Fantastique, have previously installed works at prominent design week, art festivals, and metropolises aroung the world, including RINGdeLUXE, a giant inflatable ring that most recently enveloped Paris’s Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor for Nuit Blanche in 2023, and Blurry Venice, which took attendees of the 2019 Biennale through an inflatable environment at the Venice Pavillion that dissolved distinctions between interiors, architecture, and surrounding landscape.
Following the unveiling, invited guests gathered at Boom at The Standard, where the celebration continued with DJ sets by Mona Matsuoka, Kaytranada, and Gjin Lipa, plus a special performance by Andra Day.
The evening also saw the debut of five of the maison’s new high-jewelry pieces inspired by the artistic legacy of America. Hathaway wore the new transformable Serpenti Falling Drops High Jewelry necklace, while Dua Lipa wore the transformable Serpenti Helix High Jewelry necklace. Other guests wore additional brooches, necklaces, earrings, and rings from the Serpenti High Jewelry collection. All of the dazzling new pieces are now on view at Bulgari’s Fifth Avenue boutique.
