The longtime California home of former Tonight Show host Johnny Carson is on the market for a whopping $110 million. The Point Dume estate includes a 7,100-square-foot main house and a 1,000-square-foot guest house, situated on 4.1 acres.

“This is one of Malibu’s most special properties with a rich history tied to a legend like Johnny Carson,” said listing agent Chris Cortazzo of Compass. “Its positioning, its architectural integrity, and the location are phenomenal. It’s situated closer to the bluff than you could ever build today, offering sweeping views of Little Dume Beach and the cove in one direction, and panoramic coastline views stretching down the coast in the other.”

Located at 6962 Wildlife Road in Malibu, the sprawling property also includes a 2,751-square-foot tennis pavilion with two bedrooms. The estate comprises four separate legal parcels in total.

Designed by Edward R. Niles, this private and secluded compound boasts idyllic gardens and towering glass walls with panoramic views of the nearby ocean, islands, and the dazzling nighttime display of lights known as the Queen’s Necklace. Within the main house is an indoor arboretum clad with stone floors. This space acts as both a living room and an entertainment space, with scenic views and natural light galore.

Additional design elements include a 30-foot-high glass ceiling, a sunken fireplace made of copper and glass, a cushioned sitting area, a koi pond complete with a waterfall, and a blufftop terrace.

Johnny Carson purchased this estate in the 1980s, about 10 years before ending his 30-year-long stint as the host of The Tonight Show. He owned this property until he died in 2005. It’s believed that the two-bedroom guesthouse and the tennis pavilion with two guest rooms were gifts from NBC to Carson.

The Malibu property is currently owned by venture capitalist Riaz Valani and his wife, Augusta Tigrett, the daughter of Hard Rock Cafe co-founder Isaac Tigrett. The couple purchased the Point Dume estate in 2019 for $40 million.
