With its staggering peaks and spectacular landscapes, the Dolomites—a UNESCO World Heritage site in Italy—is a popular alpine destination, particularly for outdoor enthusiasts, who flock to the area for skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. Now the region’s long-standing Rosa Alpina resort has been reborn as part of the Aman family of hotels. Esteemed architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston oversaw the renovation of the property, where sublimely serene rooms include fireplaces and deep soaking tubs, while timber, stone, and textured plaster envelop public spaces. Dining venues embrace the region’s distinct seasonality. Guests can enjoy heartier dishes on The Grill’s summer terrace, Japanese cuisine at winter specialty restaurant Akari, and daytime refreshments and evening cocktails at Il Salotto, an homage to the hotel’s original piano bar.
