1. This Striking Texas Hotel Combines a Historic Structure and Modern Tower
Not far from the cultural highlights that make San Antonio, Texas a rising-star in the travel space, the new Kimpton Santo hotel echoes the city’s talent for melding the old and the new to dynamic effect. Here, a restored 1858 German-English schoolhouse houses eight sumptuous historic suites that overlook a treasured courtyard punctuated with century-old live oaks. Exposed brick walls, deep soaker tubs, and scenic terraces make these accommodations a unique environment for respite. However, the property’s attached 10-story building offers all the modern surroundings of a cosmopolitan getaway. Kimpton Santo’s multitude of dining options too toe the the line between past and present—in the adaptive reuse portion of the site, Dean’s Steak and Seafood serves hearty fare like Texas Wagyu steaks and lobster tails while an intimate cocktail bar offers a funky environment for late-night revelry. La Prairie is kicking off 2025 with a new transformative version of its iconic Skin Caviar Liquid Lift crafted with its most advanced formulation to date. The new serum contains Caviar Micro-Nutrients and a blend of more than 300 natural nutrients to support the skin’s metabolic pathways. “Caviar Micro-Nutrients is our latest caviar active ingredient and a first in the sense that it has been obtained by a proprietary biological transformation process, going beyond the extraction processes used for our other caviar derivatives,” says Dr. Jacqueline Hill, Director of Strategic Innovation and Science at La Prairie. 4. The Macallan, Roca Brothers, and David Thulstrup Break Bread at TimeSpirit
The Macallan’s sweeping 485-acre estate on the picturesque River Spey is a site of alchemy, where the 200-year-old Scottish distiller’s single malt scotch whiskies achieve their complex flavors and velvety textures. It also recently became a site of fine dining thanks to the long-awaited opening of TimeSpirit, a 24-seat restaurant helmed by the Roca Brothers, whose legendary El Celler de Can Roca in Girona boasts three Michelin stars. At TimeSpirit, the seasonal menu is no less prestigious but doesn’t hesitate to have some fun with playful whisky pairings—take the vegetarian haggis with whisky spiced mayonnaise or The Macallan Barley, a dish showcasing whisky ingredients with fermented barley and yeast cream. Made with local ingredients and fresh produce from The Macallan Estate’s kitchen garden, each dish can be enjoyed inside an intimate dining room designed by David Thulstrup, the award-winning architect behind Copenhagen’s celebrated Noma. 5. Dior Reunites with Kaws for Capsule Menswear Collection Celebrating Year of the Snake
Six years after making his Dior debut with a groundbreaking runway presentation featuring a large-scale sculpture by Kaws, Dior’s trailblazing creative director Kim Jones is teaming up once again with the visionary New York artist to create a special new menswear capsule collection. Available from January 2 as part of the resort drop, the eye-catching release centers on the majestic symbol of the snake, which artfully weaves through the Dior logo on items such as bold varsity jackets, hats, and other sports ensembles.
