Best in Show: Louis Vuitton and Pharrell Williams Celebrate Dog Lovers with Latest Collection
The Spring-Summer 2025 offerings pay homage to the bond between humans and man's best friend
Man’s best friend is taking center stage in Pharrell Williams’s latest collection, “Dog LVers,” for Louis Vuitton. The Spring-Summer 2025 pre-collection explores the “cosmopolitan culture of dogs and their walkers,” and as such includes everything from trainer sneakers and a Louis Vuitton bone bracelet to monogram dog bowls and a special edition kennel trunk.
To compliment the drop, Louis Vuitton created a fictional dog show, complete with awards granted to the most well-behaved pooches. “Athleticism and fine tailoring are met with an eye for the absurd, and the resulting campaign scenes propose a dialogue between mascot and man, each eager to put their best foot forward,” says a description of the collection.
While the collection is rooted in preppy dress codes reflected in argyle prints and “dandy daywear” found in Paris and New York, it also pays homage to the pomp and circumstance of dog competitions. Rosette-embroidered suits and cropped jackets with collars of eveningwear are among the offerings, with rosettes serving as adornments throughout the various jackets and tops, evoking a winning spirit.
Even the LV Maxi Trainer is an ode to man’s best friend, with bright green tennis-ball suede coloring and Dalmatian ponyskin. “With anthrozoological flair, the proposal pictures the wardrobe borne out of this symbiotic relationship, from daily promenades and park life to the unique activities of the dog-loving community,” the brand says.
Naturally, the offerings include matching pairings for man and pup in the form of velvet berets for both, and bandanas that correspond to matching neckties. Additionally, pooch-specific accessories crafted in classic monogram canvas include a lead, collar, harness, plastic bag holder, and thermos. A pair of metal dog bowls set in a wood holder are also presented in a bone-shaped monogrammed trunk.
The collection is available in stores worldwide beginning October 31, and is currently on view at a pop-up in Soho open now through early December.
