2. A New Monograph by Purple Cherry Architects Offers Stunning Tour of an Exceptional Maryland Estate
With 13 en suite bedrooms, four full kitchens, and 152 bucolic acres, Northwest Point Farm in Centreville, Maryland, less than two hours from Washington, D.C., is hardly a simple country retreat. One family’s dream home, it was conceived alongside the team at Purple Cherry Architects & Interiors with a main house, guest house, seven outbuildings, and working farm. In her new monograph, Design of a Country Estate (Gibbs Smith), studio principal Cathy Purple Cherry opens all the doors to this breathtaking property, sharing the stories of its inception and construction. The project’s landscape architect Kevin Campion of Annapolis-studio Campion Hruby pens the book’s foreword, while Cherry details the many facets of the unique estate, offering insight into the symmetrical façade of the main house, the rugged materials that give the art studio its welcoming charm, and the lofty interiors which make the boat house and pool house popular destinations within the compound. 3. Baccarat Unveils Exclusive Collaboration with Emily in Paris
Baccarat is setting hearts aflutter with its latest limited-edition spin on its iconic crystal Coeur Amor, created in conjunction with Netflix’s hit series Emily in Paris. The bespoke piece is titled, “Heartbreak,” and features a red crack down the elegant crystal heart, nearly identical to the perfume bottle that plays an integral part in the newly released season four of the hit show. 4. The Roof at Park South Serves U.S. Open Themed Activations
With the 2024 Summer Olympics officially saying “au revoir”, sport enthusiasts are preparing for the next big event—the U.S. Open in New York City. The event, which runs from August 26 through September 8 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, features some of tennis’s most recognized athletes, and to celebrate the anticipated occasion, Roof at Park South is unveiling a slew of sporty activations. While watching matches live on television, guests can imbibe on boozy U.S. Open staples including Grey Goose Honey Deuces, Aperol Spritzes, Maestro Dobel Ace Palomas, and Heineken Silvers. It’s hard to draw one’s eyes away from the deep turquoise waters off Sardinia, Italy’s gorgeous Costa Smeralda coastline. But nestled along its picturesque shores, Romazzino, a Belmond hotel, is an equally striking vision, its brilliant white exterior reverberating against clear blue skies and lush emerald-green gardens. This season, a newly reimagined landscape by Gaia Chaillet Giusti, the visionary creative who sculpted the sumptuous settings featured in the Oscar-nominated film Call Me by Your Name, added to the multi-sensory splendor, punctuating the property with a kaleidoscopic swirl of magenta, blush, yellow, and purple flowers, their heady perfume dancing across the Mediterranean breeze. The Edenic surroundings provide a visual feast for guests who spend the day frolicking on the water then head into the hotel for Executive Chef Dario Parascandolo’s epicurean menus of regional fare at Restaurant La Terrasse and casual seafood dishes at Éntu e Mari. 6. Hublot Launches Special Edition with Watches of Switzerland
In celebration of Watches of Switzerland’s 100th anniversary, Swiss watchmaker Hublot unveils a new special edition, dubbed Hublot Classic Fusion Centenary. The handsome timepiece, limited to just 50 pieces, pays tribute to the brand’s Classic Fusion collection, which was designed by Hublot’s fuonder Carlo Crocco in the 1980s. With a decidedly modern aesthetic, the 42mm watch is crafted from satin-finished and polished titanium. The bezel, adorned with eight H-shaped polished titanium screws, features the very first Frosted Carbon Fiber on the original MDM Classic Fusion.
