Step Inside Creel and Gow’s New Hudson Valley Outpost
Proprietor Jamie Creel says the Millbrook space is a ‘museum-scale version of our New York cabinet of curiosities’
A jewel box of a shop on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Creel and Gow opened the doors of its new location in the bucolic town of Millbrook, New York, just in time for the influx of summer visitors. The 5,000-square-foot Hudson Valley outpost allows proprietor Jamie Creel to offer hand-painted doors from India, wicker furniture from Morocco, and treasures snapped up at Drouot auction house in Paris. “We wanted people to come from all over the area, so we filled the place with things that they aren’t used to seeing in stores,” says Creel, who also stocks customer favorites such as butterfly taxidermy and woven fabrics from Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Bhutan. “This is the museum-scale version of our New York cabinet of curiosities.”
