Visionnaire and Galerie Host a Special Evening in Los Angeles
To celebrate Frieze Week, an array of gem-like lighting creations by artist Gupica filled the Robertson Boulevard design destination
During the most recent edition of Frieze Los Angeles, Galerie Editor in Chief Jacqueline Terrebonne hosted a special evening with Visionnaire in the brand’s Robertson Boulevard showroom. Attended by art and design world stars, the event was held in celebration of “Lucente,” the new lighting installation by Italian artist and designer Gupica that was flown in specifically for Frieze Week.
Comprised of eye-catching lighting pendants and lamps in dazzling colors, the artistic project underscores Visionnaire’s ongoing commitment to exploring the intersection of art and design—a mission shared with Galerie—as well as the brand’s 20 years of creatively expressing its DNA.
“This project is a delicate reflection on the power that light has on our emotions and the suggestion that the refractions of gemstones generate in those who contemplate them when light meets the faceted and symmetrical surfaces of the stone, causing evocative luminous and kaleidoscopic effects,” explains Gupica, which is the artistic identity of Gunilla Zamboni. “The lamp diffusers are indeed inspired by the famous ‘baguette’ cut of diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, and rubies, arranged together to form single, double, or cascading sky-ground light systems.”
In recent years, the brand has developed a reputation for staging must-see installations during critical art-world events, including “The Garden of Beauty” by Marc Ange for the 2019 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach and “De Rerum Natura,” curated by Gupica, for Milan Design Week 2021. “Frieze is one of the most important art events that attracts talents and art enthusiasts from around the world,” says Eleonore Cavalli, Visionnaire’s creative director. “The event offers an exceptional opportunity to explore emerging trends in the world of contemporary art, promoting encounters and dialogues among artists, collectors, and enthusiasts.”
