The Artful Life: 6 Things Galerie Editors Love This Week
From a colorful line of wallpaper inspired by champagne fizz to the unveiling of Vista Alegre’s first collection of furniture

1. A Line of Wallpaper Inspired by Champagne Fizz Pops with Playful Colors
A new line of wallpaper—aptly named Fizz Collection—from Scott Pask and Voutsa keeps the party going with selections inspired by Champagne bubbles, the shapes of the Art Deco movement and the excitement of the Jazz Age. “The original artwork, a hand-painted sample from my Broadway scenic design archive, references the qualities and character of René Lalique’s hypnotic glassworks, bubbled vessels, and flowing water fountain glass panels,” says Pask. “We selected pearlescent papers for the stunning colorways Brut, Cork, Rosé, and Verdigris, and Gold and Silver leafs for the shimmering Premier and Grand Cru. Across its diverse colorways, foreground patterned highlights, and soft background hues, Fizz showcases a collection of remarkable depth and beauty.”—Alexandria Sillo
2. A Swiss Alpine Retreat That Honors Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Centuries-Old Craft
High in Switzerland’s resplendent Vallée de Joux, a secluded 19th-century chalet d’alpage embodies the quiet grandeur—lush pastures, pristine pine forests, the untouched Joux lake—that has shaped centuries of haute horlogerie. It was this bucolic Jura location where, in the 16th century, Pierre LeCoultre took refuge after fleeing from France and, ten generations later, his descendant Antoine LeCoultre founded heritage Swiss watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre. The newly restored Le Chalet, once a summer refuge for herdsman, is now offering invited guests of the maison an intimate connection to the brand’s roots and historic Le Sentier workshop. Local artisans meticulously rebuilt the structure’s tavaillon-shingled facades and preserved the pyramid-shaped thuyé chimney above a dining table placed where a heated cauldron once curdled fresh milk into cheese. The former milk room has become a kitchen serving cheese-driven menus, spotlighting local Vacherin and seasonal ingredients from the valley. It’s a thoughtful restoration that anchors Jaeger-LeCoultre’s legacy in the traditions, landscape, and craft that have defined its history for nearly two centuries. —Ryan Waddoups
3. Vista Alegre Unveils First Collection of Furniture in Its 200-Year History
For two centuries, Vista Alegre has been crafting refined assortments of porcelain tableware, earning legions of discerning fans, fervent collectors, and esteemed collaborators, including Galerie Creative Mind Marcel Wanders, fashion brands Christian Lacroix and Oscar de la Renta, Parisian designer Patrick Norguet, and supermodel Claudia Schiffer. Now, to mark its bicentennial, the Portuguese company has teamed up with legendary Italian automotive designers Pininfarina for Accento, a sleek new selection of furnishings. Encompassing a chic dining table with an aeronautical shape, two different chairs, three cocktail tables, and a sleek leather-wrapped sideboard with an electric yellow interior, the introductions reverberate with the hallmarks of luxury cars including hand-worked leather with diamond-pattern stitching and upscale materials like ash wood and Nero Marquina stone.
“The Accento collection reflects our shared passion for excellence, craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless beauty,” says Fabio Calorio of Pininfarina. “Pininfarina has masterfully interpreted the strong and well-defined identity of Vista Alegre, extending it into a new domain and translating its stylistic codes into furnishing elements of unique and unmistakable character.”—Jill Sieracki

5. Brooklyn’s Sleekest Nightclub Thumps and Glows Under the William Vale
Tucked underneath Williamsburg’s fashionable William Vale hotel in a once-raw concrete basement, the decadent new nightclub Unveiled is seducing Brooklynites with a part-speakeasy, part-theatrical experience concocted by Maurizio Bianchi Mattioli of Studio MBM that’s hitting all the right notes. Guests enter through a vaulted tunnel sheathed in sumptuous burl plywood—a nod to Philip Johnson’s original Four Seasons restaurant—before emerging into a moody, materially rich cocktail lounge anchored by a 30-foot-long bar and plush mossy banquettes whose fluid, meandering shapes pulse and shimmer under programmable lighting. As the evening’s energy inevitably shifts from cocktail to carousal, revelers slowly round the L-shaped basement’s bend to the “church-like” dance floor where they can soak in club classics thumping from New York’s most sophisticated Danley Sound System. Tiered leather seating lines the jewel-tone perimeter, its wavy polished aluminum cladding practically guaranteeing trippy times. “It just completely changes the space constantly every time you look at it,” Bianchi Mattioli says, joking that his partying years “paid off.” —R.W.
