Expanses of glass along the lakeside of the home that architect Paul McClean designed for a photographer and her husband, a ceramist, provide wide-open views of Folsom Lake, near Sacramento. James Magni of Magni Kalman Design masterminded the interiors, while landscape designer Ed Haag oversaw most of the outdoor spaces. The serpentine swimming pool is outfitted with chaise longues by Ledge. The adjacent terrace is furnished with Sutherland lounge chairs, upholstered in a Perennials fabric.

Magni designed the great room’s patinated-steel fireplace surround, which was crafted by Metal Art Concepts, as well as the oak hearth and shelves displaying the husband’s ceramics. A Vladimir Kagan lounge chair and an ottoman by Holly Hunt and Rio stools by Henge stand nearby, while a Minotti sofa and vintage Warren Platner chairs covered in a Mark Alexander mohair are grouped around a cocktail table by Liaigre.

In the primary bedroom, panels covered in a Great Plains fabric by Holly Hunt cushion the wall behind the Magni Home Collection bed and nightstands, which host Orestes Suarez lamps from Thomas Lavin. Linens by Between the Sheets and pillows made from a Sandra Jordan fabric from Holly Hunt dress the bed, which faces a LeeAnn Brook canvas mounted above the fireplace; the rug is by Mansour.
