Since the early 1990s, Royal Botania has been at the forefront of luxury outdoor furniture design. Founded by Kris Van Puyvelde, the Belgian-based brand was created to transform outdoor spaces into sophisticated extensions of indoor living. At a time when refined design was rarely seen outdoors, Royal Botania stepped in to fill this gap with elegant, high-quality furniture.

In the early ’90s, luxury in outdoor spaces was an unexplored concept. Van Puyvelde recognized this oversight and set out to revolutionize the industry. “When we began in the early 1990s, luxury and refined design were very limited for outdoor spaces and very rarely found,” says Pieter Van Puyvelde, marketing manager at Royal Botania. “Our goal was to change that.” His mission was clear: to create beautiful, comfortable, and meticulously crafted outdoor furniture that mirrored the luxury and refinement of indoor pieces.

From its inception, the brand has been synonymous with high-quality materials and exceptional craftsmanship. Royal Botania production takes place in their own state-of-the art factories, where skilled artisans use only the finest European materials to create durable and timeless pieces. Pieter Van Puyvelde says “our furniture must be able to withstand all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, moisture, and UV radiation.” This dedication ensures that each collection exudes elegance, resilience, and stands out in the luxury market.

The company’s commitment to innovation extends beyond aesthetics to embrace sustainability. The brand leads in creating outdoor furniture that is both stylish and environmentally responsible. By integrating sustainable practices and materials into the production processes, Royal Botania caters to the modern, eco-conscious consumer. This includes using responsibly sourced wood, recyclable metals, and eco-friendly finishes, ensuring that luxury does not come at the expense of the environment.

Award-Winning Outdoor Collections from Royal Botania

Over the years, Royal Botania has introduced several collections that have significantly shaped its identity. Uniquely inspired by nature, the Palma umbrella was awarded the prestigious “Best of Best” Red Dot Design Award thanks to a sleek and pure design. With a simple lift of one arm, the umbrella effortlessly opens to provide shade, while pulling down on one of the arms retracts it.

The Mozaix Collection is known for its intricate designs and vibrant patterns, adding an artistic touch to outdoor spaces. Meanwhile, the Organix Collection is inspired by organic shapes found in nature and combines stunning curves with minimalistic architecture. The kidney-shaped elements are complemented by backrest cushions, available in three different curves, offering both comfort and visual appeal.

Introducing the New Carés Chair

Continuing its tradition of excellence, Royal Botania recently launched the Carés chair, offering a harmonious blend of grace and contemporary craftsmanship. This beautiful piece has a frame made from the finest sustainable teak, known for its durability and rich, warm tones. The back of the chair is wrapped in a cord with twisted Batyline fibers, which therefore does not absorb water at all. This new addition perfectly encapsulates the brand’s ethos of luxury and sustainability.

The brand’s journey is a testament to its dedication to transforming outdoor spaces into beautiful, comfortable havens. Kris Van Puyvelde’s vision has been realized through a continuous pursuit of innovation and a deep appreciation for all things beautiful.  “Our aim is to constantly raise the bar and provide the best quality and design in the outdoor furniture market,” says Pieter Van Puyvelde. At the heart of Royal Botania’s brand message is an invitation to customers to share in the joy and celebration of luxury outdoor living. Each piece of furniture is designed to create memorable experiences, whether it’s a serene afternoon by the pool or a lively garden party.
