Ralph Pucci Celebrates 20 Years of Hervé Van der Straeten Collaboration with Landmark Exhibition
The show features entirely new works, as well as updated editions of the French artist-designer's most successful creations
When Hervé Van der Straeten first met Ralph Pucci while hand-delivering his portfolio to the New York design gallery, neither could have imagined how their partnership would flourish over the next two decades. “I knew immediately this was work from a very rare and extraordinary talent. Twenty years later, Hervé’s work still mesmerizes me,” says Pucci, who is mounting a special show of Van der Staeten’s most celebrated furniture and lighting alongside new designs to mark the anniversary. From his Twist console in metallic rainbow hues to sublime bronze pendants, Van der Straeten continues to evolve his oeuvre while demonstrating a mastery of color, shape, and pattern. “Sharing the same passion for design and the beauty of craftsmanship has made this relationship a lasting one,” says Van der Straeten.
The show opened Oct. 29 at Ralph Pucci International in New York.
