How to Win a Private Sleepover at the Louvre
The lavish overnight package includes aperitif beside the Mona Lisa and a VIP museum tour
Airbnb has partnered with the Musée de Louvre to give two lucky contest winners an exclusive sleepover under the Parisian museum’s iconic Pyramid. Slated for the night of April 30, the lavish overnight package includes a private concert in the opulent chambers of Napoleon III, aperitif beside the Mona Lisa, and dinner with the Venus de Milo. At the end of the night, guests will drift off to sleep in an intimate, frosted-glass “mini-pyramid” that is nested inside the real one. There’s also an after-hours museum tour, a rare occurrence typically reserved for esteemed guests like the Obamas and Beyoncé.
Airbnb and the Louvre conceived the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Pyramid, which was completed by Chinese-American architect I. M. Pei in 1989. Airbnb is also gearing up to launch a range of “experiences” at the Louvre, which will be bookable on the Airbnb platform from May through the end of the year. Visits and concerts will be among these coveted offerings, with exact programming set to be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are happy to offer this unique and special experience for two people to stay in the museum overnight, in a bespoke pyramid-shaped bedroom,” Anne-Laure Béatrix, deputy managing director of the Louvre, said in a statement. “We know that many people would love the opportunity to wander alone at night through the Louvre, and we want this to be a magical and unforgettable experience. With Airbnb’s partnership, we hope to encourage more people to discover how truly accessible and inspiring the wonders of art can be.”
The contest can be entered via the Airbnb website, where hopefuls must indicate in 800 characters why they’d be the Mona Lisa‘s perfect guest. It closes on 11:59 p.m. CET on April 12.
