Omega Renews James Bond Connection with Seamaster Diver 300M

Each one boasts the titular 300 meter water resistance, an unidirectional rotating bezel to measure elapsed dive time, a 60-minute dive scale, and a helium escape valve.

James Bond has worn OMEGA watches onscreen for over thirty years, across the Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig eras, from 1995’s GoldenEye to No Time to Die in 2021. The brand paid tribute to that partnership this week when it released six new Seamaster Diver 300M timepieces. Duality was the motivating inspirational factor. The two main sets are in stainless steel, but both styles also have two limited editions each in materials including platinum and gold.

Both the James Bond and Spectre renditions have a singular bold practicality to their designs. Each one boasts the titular 300 meter water resistance, an unidirectional rotating bezel to measure elapsed dive time, a 60-minute dive scale, and a helium escape valve. In addition, the screw-in crown helps maintain resistance, while there are luminous hands and markers for underwater and low-light legibility.

“We are extremely proud of this collection. OMEGA has been the watch of James Bond for more than thirty years, and this is the first time we have brought James Bond and Spectre together in a collection,” explained OMEGA President & CEO Raynald Aeschliman, adding, “Both belong to the same story, and our customers have always known both sides of it. Now they can wear both.”

On a fun note, the ghostly octopus Spectre logo appears on the back of the case in the Spectre version, while Bond’s symbol is on the James Bond model, because who doesn’t get a little bounce in their step from imaginatively taking on the power of being a bad guy or spy? Wearing either model may give the wearer a feeling of suaveness, but should by no means lead to international crimes or a new career in espionage—just the pleasure of looking at the time, on land or under water.
