What was your inspiration for your room at this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York?

“We designed a room for today’s executive working from home, where we currently utilize video-conferencing, collaborate online for learning and training, and communicate through podcast. We strongly believe that great design solutions for functional home offices would be strategic for the sales and marketing of our brand. This luxury office space is designed for such activities at home where an iconic backdrop is quintessential to the branding of the homeowner or the company they represent.”

Please tell us about a significant piece that helps shape the mood of your space.

“Our room features a sculptural wood wall with the use of LED lighting. Such installations showcase our strength in architectural millwork and in indirect LED lighting technology. It reinforces our standards for quality and reflects our customized vision for luxury residential architectural interior design.”

How does your work for this Kips Bay project exemplify your style as a designer – or is it just the opposite, something you have always wanted to try as a designer but haven’t found the client?

“Our typical interior design projects showcase our high design-style and attention to detail. We consistently ‘raise the bar’ in a show house by exhibiting work that utilizes current technologies that can be implemented at home. Our luxury residential installations always showcase a very specific point-of-view, executed at the highest level of quality and craftsmanship, typical of our work here at the Kips Bay Decorator Show House.”

What does it mean to you to be back at Kips Bay?

“Our participation in the Kips Bay Show House is an opportunity we take very seriously. We dedicate ourselves to our room and to the message we want to communicate with the world at large. We view our rooms in a show house as a ‘laboratory’ where we test new ideas and concepts and witness the reactions of all the patrons and other visitors.”

What does it mean to you to be part of the 50th anniversary of Kips Bay Decorator Show House New York?

“Kips Bay is the premiere American show house. We recognize that participation is an honor and find each and every experience extraordinary. We have built a career around showcasing our latest work through this venue and look forward to a new opportunity every time we participate. This will be our seventh Kips Bay room and we could not be more delighted to be a part of the 50th celebration. The charity is very near and dear to our hearts as raising money for the children of Kips Bay is a career-long commitment of raising over $1.2 million through fundraising venues we create such as the Designer Bash, which is in its 22nd year.”
