Wellness has never been more in style. The global home saunas market is no exception, having been valued at approximately $2.8 billion in 2024 and projected to reach $4.6 billion by 2033. As spending climbs, more consumers are trading spa visits for sanctuary-style experiences at home. Kohler has been keeping close tabs on these shifts and is expanding its foothold in the wellness category by launching Kohler Saunas, a line of premium indoor and outdoor models designed to blend the brand’s precision craftsmanship with cutting-edge style and performance.

Rather than simply adding another product to its portfolio, Kohler is streamlining the experience of building a comprehensive wellness routine at home. “People really wanted a one-stop shop to bring their vision for wellness in the home to life,” says Katie Stevens, general manager of Kohler Wellness. “You can find individual steam rooms or ice baths, but there isn’t one trusted brand that can bring it all together. We’re here to help people achieve that—with a brand whose quality they know and trust.”

Available in small, medium, and large configurations, the Kohler Saunas collection spans both indoor and outdoor settings. All models incorporate durable, high-performance materials like Scandinavian spruce interiors, graphite gray or Douglas fir exteriors, and dual-pane glass. For outdoor units, a triple-insulated waterproof ceiling ensures resilience against extreme weather, including up to three feet of snow. Inside, thick mineral wool insulation and aluminum vapor barriers deliver best-in-class heat retention while state-of-the-art ventilation provides draft-free, recirculated airflow up to eight times per session—an industry leader that enhances comfort and guarantees clean air. “We’ve packed them with tech like a powerful freestanding heater and dual thermostats for super accurate and smooth heating,” says Stevens. “Plus, they’re UL and CSA safety certified, so you can relax knowing you’re in good hands.”

Yet Kohler’s approach goes beyond specs. Its design rigor underpins the collection, evident in refined silhouettes and versatile finishes that suit a range of interiors, from minimalist new builds to more traditional residences. Indoor saunas can stand alone as showpieces in a space or be seamlessly integrated into walls of a renovation project or new build. “Our saunas feature sleek, contemporary designs that fit in a wide range of homes,” Stevens says. “It was all about making them beautiful and incredibly effective, no matter your home’s style.” A sleek touchscreen provides easy, comprehensive control of time, temperature, and ambiance, including a sunset lighting system that forges a calming atmosphere. For added comfort, a sauna-safe Obeche wood headrest completes the experience.

They’re also well-attuned to broader cultural shifts in how today’s consumers are approaching wellness. “Everyone’s much more focused on health and self-care these days,” Stevens says. “We’ve seen the big trend of creating an at-home oasis and the growing popularity of ‘sauna socializing.’ These insights helped us design saunas that fit right into modern lifestyles, whether you want a quiet moment alone or relaxing get-together with friends and family.”

The launch builds on Kohler’s growing slate of wellness products, which already includes steam showers, premier ice baths developed with social wellness club Remedy Place, and digital cold-mode showers for seamless contrast therapy. The goal is to create what Stevens describes as a “connected wellness ecosystem” that functions as a personalized at-home spa. “Imagine being able to set a routine where your sauna warms up just before your cold shower, all with a simple command,” she says. “We’re committed to continuing to innovate in the way Kohler is known for—making your home wellness journey even more effortless and effective.”
